If you're looking for more form-fitting tops, I got these from H&M. Basically like a v-neck with a dickey, lol. Works like the tank under clothing (pull one up and the other down) but the under part is not a full-length shirt. I like that because it's hot here and I don't like wearing the two layers!

Old Navy Tami tanks are the best! Also, I made my own Undercover Mama tank from a $2 Forever21 tank top. It was incredibly easy to make and perfect to wear under sweaters and long sleeve shirts! Here are the instructions:

Look up Lab40. I think they are sold at nordstroms. I really like the quality of the shirts and have bought a few.

There is another tank that I have a few of that I just pull my boob out of the top. I will look up the brand and post here in the morning.

I like the v-neck Target shirts. I find that the crew neck don't work for me unless they're huge.

http://www.target.com/p/women-s-long-sleeve-vee-tee-merona/-/A-51013783

They also have some henleys for sale which I imagine would work when unbuttoned.

@ShootingStar: Me too - tiny frame, huge chest while nursing. That's why I was exposing the poor mannequins, haha :) I think I bought two of these today in-store. Glad to hear they work!!

@PinkElephant: I have like 10 of those tees @SKINNYCOW: posted. They are awesome for nursing. Look for the ones that are 95% rayon and v-neck. Crew neck wasn't stretchy enough for me. I also just got some tanks from target that are working great for the pull down/pull up method. I had to go up a size though to get enough room to pull down over my boob fully, but I have really big boobs. I think it's this one - http://www.target.com/p/women-s-favorite-tank-merona/-/A-21502871?lnk=abtest_searchpdp_1

@Foodnerd81: They don't sell the tami any more 😔.

I lived in nursing bras (my favorite were from target) and just random stretchy tanks (target Merona, gap, old navy). I wore a cardigan over them.

@PinkElephant: I don't have very big boobs even when nursing and it gives me plenty of coverage-no tank needed underneath. And I ordered a small and it is stretchy so should be plenty of room for the boobs. They have free shipping if you want to just try it--I got the floral dress like that, too, for an upcoming wedding.

@tlcbaby: In the past I've lost baby weight very quickly everywhere except the chest, and am hoping I'll be that fortunate again this time - so I found nursing tops to be pretty unflattering on me, since they just clung to my huge chest and made me look much bigger than I was. But that floral top is pretty enough to make me want to give it a try! How low cut does it end up being - do you need a tank for modesty underneath?

@SKINNYCOW: Thanks for the tip! I have a ton of the juniors (mossimo) version of this tee that I wore in early/mid pregnancy and loved it. Maybe those will work, and maybe they'll come out with a long sleeve version soon-ish! :)

For tanks under cardigans or hoodies the old navy Tami tank is good. I have had a couple for 3 years and the necks are only a little stretched out.

I don't know if you are open to actual nursing tops, but I just ordered a couple off of http://www.pinkblushmaternity.com and I really like them. They pull down and they are flowy so they are forgiving while I am in that in between stage.

I've heard this one is great - it's supposed to be pretty stretchy. It's short sleeved but they probably have long sleeve/tank versions.

Baby girl #3 is supposed to be here by next weekend (!!) and I'm realizing I'm totally unprepared clothing-wise for fall & winter breastfeeding. I'd like to explore the option of pulling the neck of my shirt down (rather than layering a tee over a tank), and am looking to buy some long sleeve tshirts with necks that are easy to stretch/pull down, or possibly tanks with the same (to pair with open sweaters).

After wandering around around Target today and yanking down the necklines of various tops to expose mannequins boobs without much success (and looking like a huge creep, I'm sure), I decided to ask the experts. :)

What are your favorite currently available t-shirts (bonus points for long sleeves!) and tanks (no shelf bra) for nursing?
