@Mamaof2: I think I did go up a half size. I'm normally an 8 and I'm pretty sure mine are an 8.5. They are at home, otherwise I'd check.

@Foodnerd81: I have the Sorels as well and I have a tough time getting them on, I don't know why. I end up having to put the liner on first, then putting my foot into the boot.

I really like the Merrell ones I have, but they're like 12 years old. They are really easy to put on and are completely waterproof, I can step into a puddle and not worry about it at all. That's really my issue, not so much the snow, but the melt that comes afterwards.

@Foodnerd81: hands down, Manitoba Mukluks are the very best. I am in Wisconsin and they are serious boots. Mine are waterproof, they are leather so you could always do an extra sealer, they have vibram soles. It is cold, wet, slushy, icy and I hike in snow pretty much everyday off path for photos. I believe mine are the Gatherer.

@erinbaderin: we actually have a lot of slushy days here. That's when my current boots are a problem and it happens pretty often.

I have a pair of Manitoba Mukluks that I LOVE. They're not super waterproof, but I find that's only a problem on slushy days - they're warm, super cute, and as long as you stomp them off when you come inside the waterproof hasn't been an issue. I've worn them all winter outside playing in the snow and my feet haven't gotten wet.

@Foodnerd81: yeah, they definitely have to be tied. But they will last you for years and she probably won't be as needy by next winter!

@catlady: @yoursilverlining: @Charm54: good to know you can still get the ugg ones on and off without doing up the laces- I like the look of those but I get annoyed even when I wear sneakers and have to tie them up! Living in New England there is a lot of taking shoes off and putting back on every time we go somewhere.

@lamariniere: I also really like the way those look but it seems like I'd definitely have to tie them every time? I usually am holding the one year old or trying to keep her from crawling off the stairs or pulling something down on top of herself while I'm getting out the door.

Third for Ugg Adirondacks. I actually just bought a new pair (my last pair lasted 5 years but finally started to wear out plus I wanted a new color). They are so warm and also as comfortable as sneakers. I leave my laces undone and just slip them on. Super easy on and off that way.

I second the Ugg Adirondacks @Charm54: mentioned! They are simply awesome. Super warm - but your feet won't get sweaty in them like they will in some LL Bean and other boots. Super warm, comfortable, great grip on the snow and ice.

I can/do actually pull/sip mine on and off - just leave the laces a bit looser. The looseness is minimal and won't impact wear, but I can take them off hands-free and just pull up to put on.

I've had Sorel Joan of the Arctic for 4 years now and they are great! Warm, waterproof and kind of ugly cute. I think some people find them bulky, but I don't mind at all.

I adore x 10000 my ugg andirondacks I got last year. They are ridiculously warm, I wear them shovelling and out playing with the kids in the snow. And they are cute enough to wear every day around town. They are very very supportive and comfortable even to wear for long periods.

THey aren't SUPER easy to get on (ie: not slip on) because they have laces but they aren't too tricky.

I need to replace my winter snow boots soon- I have had them for 4 or five years now, wear them almost every day from December through march. They are not completely waterproof any more and pretty worn down so I am keeping an eye on end of season deals for next year.

Recommendations for very comfortable, easy to get on and off (in usually doing so holding a kid or bags, so ideally pull on, no straps or ties), waterproof for some snow play, and warm enough for shoveling. Should be cute enough to wear almost everyday of the winter.

I had Patagonia ones now and amhappy with them but hoping for something s tiny bit more stylish considering how much I wear them.
