I keep thinking DD is in "the best" stage & then she hits another amazing one. I've assumed she'll be our only, so I'm relishing every stage as best I can.
At a little over 2.5, she wows us with her communication. She tells us a lot of stories, made up ones & paraphrased or quoted from books. The best thing so far, though, was last night after a particularly busy day & one where I happened to be solo since DH was at a meeting. We were exhausted, so I didn't feel like doing our usual bedtime routine & yet knew she would settle faster if I just held her & sang in our glider like when she was younger. She snuggled up close in a cradle hold (but loooong legs) & looked dreamily up at me & said "you're a good mama". I melted into a big pile of sappy goo. 😍💕
She also takes a lot of responsibility for doing things herself & loves to help us with "our" jobs like meal prep & cleaning. It's cute, but hard to be patient & let her help sometimes.

DS is 3 and I frankly love how affectionate he is. He still doesn't talk much, but one of his frequent phrases is 'Love [you] Mom' and he gives a little hug or smashes cheeks. So adorable.

DD is 10 months and on the cusp of walking. I love her welcome home where she crawls as quickly as possible to me or waves her hands wildly in her high chair till I come get her :)

DS is 2.5 and I have loved the 2s so far. It's been so fun watching his language develop and start to have (albeit simple) conversations with him. He's also really started getting into imaginative play and is obsessed with FedEx, so he pretends to be a FedEx driver and delivers imaginary packages to us.

He's also very into me coming with him so he can show me things around the house....sometimes it's a bit much but I am trying to soak it up because someday he won't want me around at all. Plus I can't resist his little voice saying "Come wif me, mommy."

My son is almost four and makes connections all the time. I mentioned that our neighbor moved to Long Island, which he had never heard of before. He paused and then said, "Long Island. Is it in the ocean?"

This week I showed him ultrasound images of my pregnancy. The next morning he asked if the doctor had taken the babies out of my belly to take the pictures.

Oh, also, we just discovered in the last week or so that she can dress herself! She loves to do it and if you lay out stretchy pants and a shirt she can usually do it herself.

Her favorite things involve helping, so these days toys are put away for the most part and she spends her days doing dishes, "folding" laundry and putting it away, cleaning the floor and counters, feeding the ponies and goats, etc. It's really fun and keeps her so much more engaged than her toys do.

@peaches1038: O is 26 (almost 27) months as well and the talking just blows me away. She's been talking for a long time now but the sentences and ability to really express what she's thinking about is incredible. She also picks up EVERYTHING, so learned some not so awesome habits from the 4 year old we had staying with us. We are working on helping her forget some mean sayings that she's been yelling in public lately!!

DS is 26 months and he’s just awesome. He talks SO MUCH and it’s adorable! When something fun is about to happen he says “I SO excited!!!” He also says “missed you mama” while he cuddles into me after we get home from work and daycare. Heartmelting. He’s just so creative and funny and sweet and cute hahaha

@Foodnerd81: Our kids are exactly the same age I think. The thing that cracks me up the most is what he memorizes. Something we said in his presence once comes back up weeks later - or my favorite - the other day DW asked me, what time is it? And DS piped up, it’s time for lunch!! (From bubble guppies 😂).

DS1 is 3.5 and I just think he’s perfect! 😍 We have honestly enjoyed every stage but right now he’s just so much fun and so sweet. I took him to a parent/kid soccer class last night for the first time and he said “I love being at soccer with you” ❤️ He is so curious and is talking so much. I love hearing what he’s thinking. He also sings all the time which is just adorable.

DS2 is still cooking. I love feeling baby kicks and love that big
Brother talks to him and he moves. ❤️

I've become a total sap the past year about my kids. They are 2.5 and 4.5, and I think they just grow so fast and the time just flies, so I actually really appreciate every stage. I didn't feel that way as a new mom when LO1 was <1, but ever since having LO2, it's like I've realized how fast life is going and I basically love my kids so much, I would crawl right up inside their skin if I could. Sorry if that's weird.

LO1: She's amazing. She's so smart and inquisitive and outgoing and such a little mommy. She's a great little artist and loves to sing and dance and I love all of it.

LO2: She's really spirited but also the best cuddler. She's just very emotive in general, so she's the happiest, funniest little girl when she isn't in a super sour mood, tantrumming on the floor. She gives AMAZING tight hugs right around my neck and she has an infectious laugh. I love how she is talking a ton now, but it scares me how often she mimics me. Like something I'll tell her one day...the next, I'll hear her tell to a friend or her big sis. I also love that she still has some baby chub.

For both of them, the cutest funniest thing lately is that before they take a bath, they insist on a "nekkid dance", where we have to put one of their favorite songs on Alexa, and they dance like crazy with no clothes on. And I emphasize the crazy part--like truly wild, carefree dancing. It's quite a sight and I love it.

My one year old is a total weirdo and wild child. She does the funniest/weirdest things and just cracks herself up. Her new proclivity for diving face first off all of the furniture isn't so funny but she seems to think it is. It's just so much fun to watch her do her own thing.

@snowjewelz: while I miss the precarious balancing of early walking, now my 2 year old has the cutest little jog. She mostly does t when she is trying to keep up with big sister, but the funny thing is it’s really not any faster than her walking. So cute.

@nana87: I know- I have a hard time not focusing on the tough parts. So when they do something super cute I try to just stop and really appreciate it.

I am totally obsessed with my one year old. I already miss it when she was just starting to walk and get that funny balancing act going on. Now she just walks normal more or less. Love all the babbling. She is just so funny and full of personality. Everything she does is cute. And I am super weepy over everything b/c she's most likely our last.

My 3 year old is funny too with the things she say! Her level of comprehension and writing/recognition skills just amaze me. Everyday I see her becoming a little girl and I just can't!

My 11 mo is currently working on ALL THE THINGS! Walking, babbling, figuring out crawling up steps, stacking, recognizing songs, you name it. She is just the most joyful baby and her face when she figures something out is just priceless 😍

Lo1 is almost 4 and her memory for books and songs is unbelievable. And she’s starting to be able to problem solve/work together with friends in such a beautiful way. She and her bestie were taking turns during drop off yesterday so sweetly and cooperatively I couldn’t even believe it

What is your favorite thing about your kid(s) at this current stage?

My girls are 4.5 and 2. The 2 year old is starting to talk a little more but a lot of time I can’t understand what she’s saying. I can ask my 4 year old and a lot of the times she can translate for me and understands the little one better than I do, which I love!

And they have started singing together, with the older one actually singing a whole song and the little one follows along and sings the lines she knows. They sang You Are My Sunshine in the car for fifteen minutes together

Little things like that help distract me from the 95% of the day they are fighting or whining. :silly:
