My most favorite thing about him is that he always takes plenty of time to talk to us about anything. She just fit our "style". She's more conservative, which we really liked, whereas some of the other pediatricians were a bit more progressive and it made us uncomfortable. She sticks to tried and true methods but doesn't push us into doing anything that we don't feel comfortable with. Her office has great staff and we never have to wait longer than 10 or 15 minutes for her. He'll sit and answer all your questions even if the waiting room is full, which means long-ish wait times. But when your name is called, you know you'll get the most thorough check-up ever. She's a niece of my husband's co-worker.<br /> we also liked their stance on vaccinations. But ours was we liked that they were open about it. And willing to work with us to educate us rather than going the "my way or the highway"<br /> Location, location, location! They are very close to what will be her daycare and our house and my husband's work. And in the future if we switch her daycare to one we want to there is an alternate location that is close to my work and that daycare as well.<br /> It is a group practice and a lot of my co-workers take their kids there as well.<br /> Yesss evening and weekend hours were a must!!!<br /> Another one that was pretty important to us is that there is a LC on staff.<br /> I also like that they set aside certain sick appointments each day.</p> <p>@mrs. wagon: woah! good find on the Sunday hours!!! That's hard to come by. A line just for new parents! that sounds great!!</p> <p>I love my girls' pediatricians. They never rush appts at all (they take their time with you!), are extremely thorough (almost too thorough, but I love it), and come from ivy league schools (not a requirement I had, but nice!). We've been seen by most of them, including the nurse practitioners, and were able to choose our pediatrician from them. I actually liked almost all of them so I let Wagon Sr. choose. </p> <p>My FAVORITE thing about them is that they are open on Saturdays and Sundays, regular hours. :D </p> <p>Also the nurses are so fantastic. When Wagon Sr. had roseola and was still undiagnosed (pre-rash), they called every 24 hours to see what his temperature was and to see if we wanted to take him for bloodwork or not. This has been an amazing convenience, since we had to bring our newborn there several times within her first week at home. At the office there are a number of pediatricians, but we chose ours b/c she's the same pediatrician that my OB uses for her kids. We went to an orientation for a pediatrician last night that many of our friends go to. They all love them, so we knew we were getting a good referral when we went into it. </p> <p>I like the fact that there are multiple doctors and there is a nurse line specifically just for new parent questions. I also appreciate that they told us during the orientation that if you don't plan on vaccinating your child, they will not accept you as a patient. I appreciate the honesty and their explanation of why they do it that way. </p>
