Sidewalk chalk is big with us right now. It's a good size for gripping and since it's been nice out, I have been letting her at the patio, sidewalk, playset, even the sides of the house, haha, because it's easy to wipe off.

We have had a hard time with markers. She gives me side eye with Color Wonder - she's like, why won't this draw on my arm and the wall? Though she will use them sometimes - but I have also found them to dry out quickly. Washable is pretty washable from skin and clothes but it's still a pain when it is all over the house. She eats crayons.

P.S. I refuse to buy anything but Crayola Washable art supplies. MIL bought her some knock offs for Christmas and they're a pain to clean. I've since hidden them!

we have the Crayola triangle crayons (i think its easier for her to hold them since they're huge and doesn't slip from her fingers because its a triangle), tubes or finger paints. DD loves them! I got them cheaper some where else but we have it in this container so it great to just throw in our bag and go.

@nana87: we have some crayola dot markers that Ben really likes. They're thick so they're easier for him to hold and move around. We made finger paint out of instant mashed potatoes once but it was messy and hard to spread. We also tried the Crayola my first finger paint, but the sticky paint stuff, though not colored, is pretty gross. I've found it impossible to clean off of things.

Anything crayola washable is good. Our favorites are finger paints, markers and dry erase crayons. Also buy a bottle of dr.bronners while you're at it.

Crayons, washable paint and washable markers. They use washable markers at school and they come off of her hands (that she likes to color..) really easily. Finger paints are great, too.

I really like the Crayola Color Wonder markers and paper for that age, washable is a crapshoot, to be honest.

I also like the Crayola dry erase crayons, those are great too.

What are your favorite art supplies for a young toddler? This pic is LO today after grabbing my pen-- I gave her some highlighters and she had a ball! Clearly we need some better non-toxic and washable markers/crayons/ etc, but there are so many options! What are your favorites?
