I really want to buy this one for my DD, but I don’t know if I can find it where we are currently living. I may see if my ILs can bring it when they come visit. I’ve seen it in real life and it has a relative small footprint.

I actually just asked a similar question a few weeks ago: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/what-kind-of-dollhouse-does-your-lo-have

I think we are getting her the skylar one from amazon- it’s the right combo of price and looks and size for me. I read in my post to make sure it comes with some furniture and dolls or those can cost more than the house.

We got the folding meliss and Doug one when my daughter mad maybe two and she still plays with it.

I just got the Melissa and Doug one from Goodwill for $12, so I highly recommend checking your local thrift shops; and also it’s pretty good - not too detailed but would definitely last until she’s 6-7 at least. Plus it has a garage and an elevator. We also have the KidKraft firehouse at my parents house and it’s pretty good. I feel like my daughter is outgrowing the Playmobil 123 stuff at 3 so I would maybe go with something geared towards preschoolers.

I'd like to get DD (almost 2.5) a dollhouse for Christmas. Nothing too big or fancy, but something with a few pieces so she can act out stories. I've been looking at the Playmobil 123 Suburban House. Does anyone have it or have other suggestions for a good starter dollhouse?
