We got her the Zany Zoo, a personalized PBK stocking (I counted that), and a PBK Anywhere Chair. She still loves and uses the chair everyday. She was gifted a walker/activity toy and that was used for months as she learned how to walk and even for a few months afterwards. She was also gifted the Cozy Coupe, which she loves and plays with every day. We got a play kitchen and play food shortly after. </p> <p>Also, about the doll, she was gifted a doll around 1 y/o. Didn't have any interest until about 15 months. He definitely loved it around 1. He doesn't play with it all that often now at 2, but just last night he played with it for about a half hour. The Little People stuff is also great. What were your children's favorite toys around 1 year? We'd like things that she won't outgrow after a few months, or things that she will grow into.</p> <p>I want to make it fun for her, but reasonable since she really isn't going to remember or understand much and probably only going to want to play with the boxes!</p> <p>So far I have thought of:</p> <p>-laugh and learn house (any reviews? my nephew loves it but it's kind of pricey for a toy I'm not sure how long she will use it for...)<br /> -4-in-1 trike from radioflyer<br /> -bitty baby (too young?)<br /> -toy kitchen<br /> -clothes since she's got nada past 12 months<br /> -snack tray and parent console for her stroller </p> <p>My husband and I really want to raise our children in a minimalist way when it comes to presents (e.g., we will be requesting no gifts for birthday parties, probably not going to raise them in the world of santa, etc.), but don't want to deprive them either. As the holiday comes closer, I'm feeling a bit guilty about it though, but maybe that's my own mom's feelings about our choices interfering with what we'd like to do... </p>
