@LovelyPlum: @Mrs. Bee: I have a friend who has the Alma Bloom and her daughter outgrew it by 6 months! She has an admittedly tall, strong, and advanced baby (she starting pulling up and standing at 6 months too) but they had to put her in the pack and play because she was too big for the mini crib and hitting all the sides too much. Her husband is about 6'4" and robust, though, so that could be part of it.

@Foodnerd81: i've never flown with the babybjorn before so i have no idea, but i think they just count it as regular luggage -- not free like a car seat or stroller.

@LovelyPlum: there are mini cribs like the bloom alma.

the description says good for 12 months, but a friend of ours used it til past 2. she is petite though!

Does anyone use a PnP or travel crib as their everyday crib? We can't fit a full sized one in our apt and are looking into other options.

Baby Bjorne! Easiest to set up. Take down took time to learn but now is easy.

@Mrs. Bee: When you check the Baby Bjorn, I assume they charge you like luggage, not doing the free checking like they do for a stroller or carseat?

We have the Aprica Haven which is more of a playard. We bring that with us on overnight driving trips. I like it b/c it is mesh all the way to the bottom so when I use it at home (as a playard), my LO can see out.

Baby Bjorn! We've used it countless times. Takes barely a min to set up/take down and is light!

the breeze is the easiest to set up, but it's very heavy. it is best not for travel, but if you need to move it from room to room regularly.

the baby bjorn is great, but you have to check it in when you travel by air.

the go crib is what we used for international travel (you can carry it on).

all three are great (but pricey). but... they have excellent resale values, particularly the babybjorn.

Another vote for the Baby Bjorn travel crib. It's so simple compared to the pack 'n play. It also seems a lot more comfortable.

We also love the Baby Bjorn travel crib. It is light and easy to set up and take down and it has a nice mattress.

Baby Bjorn travel crib, hands down. It's pricey, but if you want something that's easy to use, it's hard to beat. I've heard similar things about the 4mom Breeze.

PNPs are good for second cribs at grandma's but only if they're going to stay at grandma's, IMO. They are a pain to set up and take down, and they're heavy!

The buy or skip blog post got me thinking about this-- what is your favorite travel crib/play yard? I don't plan on the baby sleeping in it at home (right now the plan is to use a rock n play right away, then full crib). We will be travelling to family on occasion and I don't know what the sleep situation for baby will be at their houses/hotels, so I think I would prioritize the ease of traveling with it and setting it up for sleeping over using it as a play yard, if that makes sense. Travel would be mostly by car, but sometimes by plane (though, I wouldn't be surprised if MIL bought one to keep at her place anyway-- anything to see the baby more!)

What do you have or wish you had? Regular Pack n Play? Or one of the others?
