My son is scared of the hand dryers (even now at 4), so we aren't allowed to use them in public toilets. He has never been afraid of using the actual toilet though.

I don't know how it happened, but once we started potty training my DS got OBSESSED with peeing in public washrooms, he didn't love being in them before then, but I think something about being able to use them instead of just being in them passively made him like it.

@2littlepumpkins: oh no! Those hand dryers are the worst. My LO is almost 2 and they totally startle and scare him.

We haven't had to deal with this yet, but I remember people saying that they carry stickers or post its that you or LO can use to cover the automatic flush sensors in public bathrooms. I thought that was genius.

How do you deal with potty training? The plan right now is for her to eventually go and then leave and I flush. She has suddenly taken to her small potty today and I think it won't be *too* long until she will sit on the regular toilet at home. It's the loud noises of the toilets flushing and the hand dryers that scare Lo.
