I feel the same, this is one of the reasons I plan on pumping and bottle feeding. I have always done my best to hide my breasts and I feel like breastfeeding will just bring more attention to them. I will do it for the first few weeks and then transition to bottles of breast milk.

I had the exact same fear! I was so worried! But LO is now 3 months and it has not been an issue at all, so I was worried for nothing. It's a little weird at first with the leakage, but like pp said, just pump first and once your supply is under control it should be fine.

I feel like just about every woman has to make the transition from her breasts being totally sexual in nature to being sexual/also for feeding. You are definitely not alone in that area.

I think there are probably more Mom's out there that feel this way than anyone realizes! Don't worry, I think our bodies were made to help us get around this- when babe is hungry, our breasts exist just for them! You'll get used to it. I still think breastfeeding is a little freaky and I'm on baby number 2. A little human attached to our nipples? It's cute and kinda funny. If we can't laugh, momma's, we'll never survive!

I'm still pregnant, but I had my biggest OMG/freak out moment when I realized that my breasts were leaking colostrum. It's definitely strange in our culture to make that jump!

But, I have to say that I got used to the new state of affairs very quickly. Like PPs said, there's no weird mental crossover between the mothering part of a woman's sexuality and the intimate relations part. Both are completely natural and normal, so there's no competition between the two.

Its really hard to determine how you will feel until you have that baby. The best thing you can do is try to have an open mind right now and be willing to try and give it your best.

Exactly what was said above :) I always pump beforehand too so there is no leakage. There are also times when they were quite sore, so it was a look, but not touch time.

My hormones tend to keep things compartmentalized, too. When I'm breastfeeding, nothing much in the way of sexytimes is in my mind, and likewise, in the middle of shenanigans
I'm not really thinking about feeding.

I also saw/see my breasts as extremely sexual, and did wonder how I would feel about breastfeeding, but I am able to compartmentalize them quite well. During "sexy time" my breasts are sexual, and the rest of the time, they are for feeding Sawyer. I don't have any cross-over in how I see them, and that started the moment I started breastfeeding. There is nothing sexually stimulating about breastfeeding for me.

@Hanzabelle: I kind of thought about this too. And I know breastfeeding works out differently for everybody, so don't feel bad or guilty if you end up not liking it or deciding it is not for you. But for me, I love breastfeeding. And surprisingly, it has not changed the "sexuality" of my boobs. DH still treats them just the same. This might be TMI, but I always pump before sexy time just to make sure we don't have any embarrassing leaky moments.

Ok please don't judge me... These fears are really ridiculous I know... I just hoping one of you lovely mums had the same fear and how/did you overcome it?
The thought of breast feeling completely freaks me out. I am a HUGE believer in everything natural but this is just the one thing I feel I can't get over. For something that is so natural I can't work it out. I think it stems from the fact that (sorry TMI ) my breasts have always been a big thing sexually so the step from sexual to baby food source is completely freaky to me. :-/ I really want to breast feed for bonding and nourishment etc but not sure I can get over this...... Help!
