I drank smoothies or meal replacement / supplement shakes as snacks, they were quick and easy to drink in a hurry.

You can basically turn any cookie recipe into lactation cookies by adding rolled oats, flaxseed and brewer's yeast.

@BabyMats: I just made the most "popular" lactation cookie recipe out there and based in the comments, I made some changes to make them a little less bad-for-you. And thank goodness I did, because they were delicious and I ate about 15 of them in 4 days. Lol.

http://www.food.com/recipe/oatmeal-chocolate-chip-lactation-cookies-by-noel-trujillo-192346

My changes to the recipe were to do half white flour and half whole wheat flour, I only did 1/2 the butter and a little butter substitute (because many I'd the reviews said the cookies were too thin and spread a lot and butter makes cookies thinner and spread more), I did half the white sugar because many of the comments said they were too sweet, I used the max amounts of flax seed and brewery's yeast and I eliminated the baking soda because I was out, lol.

What I ended up with were delicious---- and more of a scone texture/flavor than a cookie. But then I ate them for breakfast and night time snacks (I'm a,ways starving when I wake up in the night to pump) and didnt feel too guilty about it.

Not totally sure if they worked since I have a good supply to start with, but I figure the steel cut oats are always good for supply, so they definitely didnt hurt.

I eat granola bars, yogurt, muffins that I make and freeze, dried fruit, and tons of carbs - bagels, toast, crackers - anything easy.

I eat a lot of granola bars as well. Now that I'm a little better at it, I also snack on baby carrot and cucumbers with hummus. I buy the individual cups and cut up my cucumbers when I get home so it's all ready to go...

So I know I should probably have a better idea but my laziness has me going for the junk snacks. Anybody have any fairly healthy go to snacks While breastfeeding. I need to not reach for those cookies or the second bagel my butt is big enough. I might be able to start walking soon ( my c section stitches opened twice) and I really want to try and be healthy on the snacks. I know apples and grapes gets the worst reaction out of him so I'm afraid to eat those. Help! Also heard about lactation cookies? Anyone got a good recipe?

ETA thanks in advance
