I would start with a fast speed, low strength

After a few minutes I would switch to a medium speed, medium strength.

@abmamma: For me, I would mess with the settings until it felt ok which was usually at around the medium setting for both. I got pretty good output and it was at a comfortable pace.

Following back up on this-- I ended up getting the Hygeia and like it so far (although only been using it for a day or so). Definitely not as hard on my nipples as the PISA and I think I'm getting output a little faster than with the PISA. The motor is a little loud (which I had heard elsewhere-- not that the PISA is especially quiet). But overall happy so far.

@AmandaB8: @birdofafeather: @MK0180: @lemondrop: Thanks for the feedback! What combo of settings worked best for you all in terms of getting the most output? I am still trying to figure that part out (and am currently EPing while my nipples heal from latch problems with DS). TIA!

Loved. It. About as much as you can love pumping, lol. (consider that I've been nursing/pumping/pregnant for the past 4 years, so I'm ready for a break!)

It worked far more efficiently and was way easier to clean than the Ameda I rented and was way simpler than my SIL's Medela. I had the same thing happen, I bought my Hygeia before the free pumps came into effect. Got a free Medela as a back up just in case at the end of my second pregnancy (ended up donating unused to my LC), but have been able to pump with it for 15 months for each baby.

I loved my Hygeia - I had no issues and being able to control the speed and strength was great. I have nothing to compare it to as it was my first and only pump, but if we ever have a 2nd LO I'll go back to it.

Following. Leaning towards this model because it's a closed system.

i thought my hygeia was great! i only used a friend's PISA once, but hers seemed super confusing to me compared to my hygeia. i liked that it's a closed system, you can share safely with other mothers and babies and even recycle it back to them when you're done!

I LOVED my Hygeia - and I exclusively pumped. It has individual strength settings and speed settings.

Bonus points: the Hygeia is compatible with Medela flanges and parts.

Hi all-- I am looking into pumps that are covered by my insurance and am specifically interested on any recent feedback from ladies who have used the Hygeia Enjoye pump.

As background, I am about to have LO#2 and previously used a Medela PISA (which I bought myself since ACA coverage had not yet come into effect). Despite best efforts to primarily nurse until I went back to work, I ended up EP when DD was 4 months old due to supply problems so I used the pump a lot. The PISA worked fine (I guess-- nothing really to comapre it to) but I am looking to see whether I might have better luck with a different model this time. I bought new parts for the PISA recently so worst case scenario, this one becomes a back-up (or one I leave at work when I go back).

Thoughts?
