@shellio: @Corduroy: It would be amazing if he decided to start sleeping through the night while I'm away!

DS is doing pretty well with solids, so I'll make sure DH is giving him plenty. I'll either get some formula or make sure DH knows which one I'd like to use before I leave just in case.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Since he's 9 months I would try to increase the fat and protein options you're giving him for solids before the trip so DH has some options to fill him up... if your LO is into solids.

I wouldn't buy formula ahead of time for my DH if I was leaving because he would use it even if things were going just fine without it. Then I'd be stuck with leftover formula. I would just tell him he could get formula if he needed it.

My LO often STTN when I traveled because there was nothing to wake up for.

If your DH is up for it and you are comfortable with it, maybe this is an opportunity to try to wean the night wakings. Also I agree that having some formula on hand is a good idea. (Try not to stress about it, the benefit of EBF over formula after 6 mos is marginal.)

I would be sure to have some formula on hand. I mixed formula & BM for a while when my supply started to dip. Maybe your DH could mix them to help stretch your BM.

DS is 9 months old, breastfed and still waking up 1-2x per night to nurse. I am going on a work trip at the end of this week with out him for 3.5 days and 3 nights. I will be at an all day conference each of those days. I plan to do my best to keep up with pumping while I am there - though I anticipate it will be a huge challenge. The bigger issue however is that I think I have just barely enough in the freezer to cover the time I'm away. And if DS eats more than once at night, there won't be enough. To compound the problem I am barely able to pump enough for him to take to daycare so trying to stock up a little extra before isn't a reality.

Should I have DH try and only feed him once at night or try to soothe him without feeding? Buy some formula just in case (he's never had formula)? Something else?
