We typically just tell them to help themselves to anything in the fridge/cupboard (except alcohol). If we need them to make something for LO then I make sure to leave all the ingredients in an easy to find location and do something simple like frozen pizza or mac-n-cheese. Most of the time though if they are only sitting for a couple of hours they will eat before they get there.

I think frozen pizza is good, or sandwiches and chips!

@brownie: yeah, she's only 4.5 months old so it's boob juice for her.

I think I'll swing by the store and grab some deli meat and tell them they can make sandwiches or eat whatever is in the fridge/freezer that way they have options and if they dont eat then nothing is wasted since it's what we normally eat.

Yep frozen pizza, chips (doritos or whatever), granola bars, stuff to make a ham sandwich or easy mac. When i babysat I just fed myself whatever the family said I could eat from their cupboards.

Is your LO too little to eat? I always let them eat what the kid is having. My babysitters watch the kids all day once and brought thier own food (but they are picky eaters). Frozen pizza or Mac and Cheese is easy and will probably go over well.

I think a frozen pizza is a great option! I'd love that, as a babysitter/nanny for over 10 years, that was always my go-to choice when making something to eat while taking care of the kiddos.

My parents always tried to plan meals so that babysitters didn't have to do much effort (no cooking, no calling a pizza guy). They would make ahead something that could sit out a while (mac and cheese) or make up plates/sandwiches ahead of time that could be eaten cold or just put in the microwave. Since there are two of them it may not be an issue. But I know as a sitter it was nice not to have to cook because I wasn't used to juggling a kid and cooking at the same time (plus lots of dangerous stuff for kids in kitchens).

I would leave frozen pizza. They may plan ahead and eat before they come so that way if they aren't hungry you haven't wasted money or food by preparing something that doesn't get eaten.

ETA: This should be in childcare, not baby fever. Not sure why it moved itself.

Our pastor's daughters our coming over tomorrow to watch our 4.5 month old while we go see a movie. They're getting here at 11 and will be here 3-4 hours so I obviously need to feed them lunch. My question is: what do I feed them? Should I leave $20 for them to order a pizza? What if they're not comfortable with a delivery man coming to the house? Should I leave a frozen pizza or make something like chips and queso?

I don't want to be "that mom" that leaves nothing to eat or leaves something gross.
