@Mrs. Blue: no, the pain seemed to come and go in waves. same with J... for example, this past week he was an amazing sleeper - he slept from 8-6:45 am straight through most nights, but just last day/night i could tell he was in pain because he was sucking on his fist so much, and gnawing everything in sight (including my shoulder when i was holding him upright!)... and he woke up 2x last night and when i went to him he was biting his whole hand and drooling like a monster. :(

i had to give him some hyland's teething tablets, and he seemed instantly better.

@buffalove: That was my first thought, too. We needed to move them up to the next one, but that didn't seem to help the above issues, though it did give me the kick in the pants I needed to get it done!

@Mrs. High Heels: So, did N do that until her teeth came in? Also, does this just constantly happen as they get new teeth? I am NOT looking forward to a double dose of teething. Blech.

I still think it could be teething! J and N both did this around the 3-4 month mark, but N didn't really sprout teeth until 5.5-6 months. Sometimes teething lasts awhile!

Sometimes I find that DS just gets bored eating. Going up a nipple size has helped us in the past.

That was a rough time in my house too. Both kids got teeth around then...I couldn't see it either, but the ped could tell. We had to get some different style nipples for DS and that would help. And just offered more often since they were eating less each time.

Good luck! It will pass :)

@Mrs. Blue: I think so... but I suspected it early because Wagon Jr. was an early teether too. According to my mom and my MIL, Wagon Sr. and I were both early teethers, so maybe you can get a clue from there??

@mrs. wagon: Your little early tethers were the reason teething even entered my mind. I need to go read your post on that. How long was she like that? Until they came in??? I guess I'll just have to wait and see if any show up in a few weeks.

I posted this on the March 2013 boards, but I'm cross-posting here to get a broader audience.

In the last 4 days, our boys have been terrible eaters! They went from eating 3 1/2-5 1/2 ounces at nearly every feeding to us struggling to get to 3 ounces! They eat 1 1/2-2 ounces fine and then just conpletely lose interest, pull off the bottle, and fuss every time we try to put the bottle back in. They've also been having a harder time settling down at night and have added a MOTN feeding again. E is pretty congested, so that could be part of it, I suppose, but he's eating better than F, who isn't congested. They will be 4 months old this weekend (3 mo. adjusted). I've checked their gums and don't see any redness or teeth poking through, so I don't think they are teething (not that I really know what I"m looking for).

Anyone's LO done this? Ideas for what might be going on?
