@JuneBugsMama: Ugh! Your MIL sounds like a piece of work. Are you just visiting or is your staying with your in laws a semi-permanent situation? That would probably affect how I'd deal with the interrupted sleep, and complete lack of empathy from everyone (and common sense, it seems).

lol i would've been so annoyed! i feel like my MIL does not know what a quiet voice is. and don't even get me started on my BIL.. he shouts even when you're standing right next to him.. and sometimes MIL will say things like "well she has to learn to sleep thru noise" and then i just want to punch her..

@junebugsmama: That would drive me bananas! My husband had a weird work situation last night and had to work until 3am. Of course he woke us up three times last night because he was awake and wanted to chat or was moving around enough to wake someone up. I wanted to chuck the baby at him this morning when she woke up for the day! So I completely sympathize with you wishing the baby was disturbing them! Good luck with your mil! She seems like a good one to use "smile and nod" on!

Omg @mrsf and @dandelion I forgot the worst part! I did pop my head out when they first were talking loud and baby started stirring and my mil said "I thought you said you wanted to keep him awake longer".

Nooooo idea where she got that from! We had been chatting earlier about his sleep and how his only reliable stretch is the first half of the night therefore I try to sleep as early as he does.

Having a conversation with her is like having two totally different ones. Oh, last night she also said she thinks he eats too much and is getting reflux, but she also said that he wants to eat all the time and fusses at the breast occasionally because I don't have enough milk. The second part she said she's been discussing with her neighbor! Not to mention the spoiling from not letting him cry more and I need to try harder to give him a pacifier to make it easier on others. By the way, she says her son never wanted a baby his whole life and "everyone was so shocked when he changed his mind".

Phew I guess I had more venting to do!!

Ugh I would say something in the morning. "We slept terrible from all the commotion going on while LO was trying to get back to sleep!" I value my sleep, so I would have to put an end to it!

Staying at my mother in law's house and I am doing my usual first motn feeding. Baby slept decently, this is his normal first wake up time and I got him to bed right on time.

However, I wasn't able to sleep for almost two hours because she came home from picking up my niece and they were loudly talking in kitchen. I wasn't going to say anything but baby started to stir! He never woke up fully but did the single cry/whine thing on and off for a while, making it impossible to me to doze off for a while.

Then I finally get to sleep and my husband comes over after a long day of working on our remodel. Of course we say a quick hello and then his mom is loudly chatting with him as she prepares him food (he already ate dinner). He gets in the shower and our dog is barking so loud... I sill don't even know what was going on!

So the petty part, I am secretly hoping baby crying woke up all these now sleeping peacefully people in the house!
Maybe I should have labeled this mil/dh rant
:)
