@Mrs.Panda: oh it just happens here and there. I forget but I do remember at the beginning it was easier to feel if my hand was on the outside.

I was the same way with LO1. I also had an anterior placenta. I hardly felt her throughout my entire pregnancy. She liked to kick my arm when I rested it on my belly (usually crossed arms) and that is when I mostly noticed her movement. There was no way I could do kick counts ever.

@rattles: I do have an anterior placenta. From what it kind of looked like, it could have occurred on the outside line of where the placenta edge would be so maybe she kicked around it? I'm just confused as to why I didn't feel it inside but I'm pretty sure I felt with with my hand. I don't think it was my heartbeat, even though that has been bounding all over these days.

@Adira: Thanks for sharing! Glad I'm not crazy :)

@Mrs. Tea: Thank you, that does make me feel better!

@Mrs.Someone: ME TOO.

Do you have an anterior placenta, by chance? I did with DD, and it kept me from feeling kicks until really late (24 weeks), but it meant that by the time I did, they were the kind of kicks that you could feel on the outside too. DH actually felt the first kick at the same time I did because we were cuddling on the couch at the time.

This is how I felt Norah's early kicks..actually I could feel her rolling around with my hand long before I could actually "feel" her. I have no idea why this is how it was but hey at least you know you are not alone :)

It didn't happen to me, but my best friend had similar experiences. She said her stomach just wasn't very sensitive so she could never feel kicks, though she could see them or feel them if they jostled her stomach enough!

I have an odd, odd question. I am 19 weeks and some change and haven't really felt definitive baby movements yet due to an anterior placenta. I thought I felt a couple of rolls and a couple of weeks ago was getting sharp pain in my cervix area, but those were probably round ligaments pains.

Well, I just randomly put my hand on the side of my belly (like 4 or so inches away from my belly button) and thought I felt a sharp kick on my palm! But the weird part is, I didn't feel it inside! Has this happened to anyone?
