I had random crampiness starting around the same time. They became timeable around 38/39 weeks, but if they were contractions, they were VERY mild. I was always annoyed when people were like, "You'll know the difference!" but they were SO right. When the real contractions started, there was no question what they were.

My midwife told me to expect period-like cramps in the coming weeks (I'm 33 weeks right now) and that they are very normal at this point.

I had the same cramps starting around 35 weeks. It was nothing "time-able" and I was worried I wouldn't know when I was having real contractions. But then when I had real contractions they were no joke and I knew right away!

@Weagle: exactly! my OB kept saying, "have you had any contractions?" and I'd say, "I don't know, it's my first baby!" and he said, "then you haven't."

holy hell was he right. there is such a difference. mine started as menstrual crampy but definitely breaks in between. I did have the achy menstrual cramp feeling for a few weeks before though. getting close!!

I definitely felt those more in the last weeks. Trust me, you'll know when you're having a true contraction. People kept telling me that, and I didn't believe them. They were totally right.

Our birth mom has been feeling this way. Her Dr said it's her uterus stretching some more. I hope you get some relief soon!

I'm 36 weeks today and I woke up feeling like I was having menstrual cramps. The thing is, there is no marked "beginning" and "end", it just sorts of ebbs and flows endlessly. It's not strong, I've had worse cramps during my period, but there's definitely something there.

Thoughts? Did anyone experience something like this?
