Aww, I am sorry! I totally understand why you would be! Would starting a check list and slowly ticking off each thing as time goes by make you feel like its' getting closer?

@Truth Bombs: I like that idea. I was in a similar boat last summer (though way less drastic)- we were in our city condo, looking for a house in the burbs. I did try to do the things I loved about being in the city that I knew I would miss, like walking to the museum and playgrounds. But it is hard being in limbo!

I totally get that feeling of being in limbo, waiting to move. DH and I pretty much decided we were going to put our house on the market next spring and make a long distance move. I was hoping to move into a position at work that could be remote, but then last week my boss offered an opportunity I'd be foolish to turn down, but I also can't do remotely.

So now we've pushed our timeline out for another year. It'll give me time in the new position and then I'll try to find something in the city we want to move to. But now it really feels like things are on hold. All we can do in the meantime is work on getting the house ready to sell. We want to paint and replace the carpets and declutter. But it's hard feeling in limbo and like you're waiting around. I was almost regretting the new work opportunity because it messed with our plans so much.

@Truth Bombs: This is a good idea.

Getting to all the places you love or haven't been to would keep you busy. Maybe some get together with friends.

I can't imagine how hard it would be knowing you'll be going soon. Hopefully the routine of school will help a bit b

Maybe a therapist could help guide you through the transition.

I totally understand there is a city we really want to move to but DH has to get promoted which could be anytime or could be years.

Why don't you make a bucket list of all the things you DO like about your current city and focus on enjoying all of them before you leave.

I've posted about a major move. And it's going to happen in 2018.

We returned 10 days ago from where we will be moving, and we were there for three weeks. We house hunted, and spent amazing time with family and we were really down about heading back halfway across country to our current home.

Since arriving back I have been grouchy, and just down. No motivation to work out, eating too much, and just feel that anything here is really pointless and just feel I am waiting to leave.

Hopefully back to school on Tuesday (for DH and my oldest) will help shed some mood (I think his grump about going back has a bit of impact too)

Has anyone experienced this? I don't want to wish time away. I am home with the kids including my last baby. I just can't self talk my way through this. Just gah. It doesn't make sense to leave sooner, waiting makes sense for a zillion reasons, but the world is nottttt going to want to deal with me like this for 6-11 months! Any reading, tips or thoughts.....welcome. My DH has supported with "just shake it" and I can't.
