Thanks ladies! Of course no one said anything... you are right, I doubt they even remembered! I was just feeling self-conscious!

I, however, did get the X-rays, because to be honest, I hadv't had any in probably 5 years or so due to lack of dental insurance. But next year I'll think about opting out because my teeth are historically in very good shape. I agree that in general there is no reason to have them every year.

No need to be embarssed, they might be more nervous to ask why since they will notice you aren't pregnant and will most likely assume that you no longer are due to a M/S. I would hope they would be sensitive in that nature.

They ask if there's any chance you could be pregnant...and there was. So if they are lame enough to ask...just remind them about that! Good luck.

No, need to feel embarrassed. I've hinted to the dentist that I was trying. 7 months later... nothing.

Yeah don't worry they won't remember. And even if they do they won't be stupid enough to say anything!!

@Rachel: No you shouldn't get x-rays at all while pregnant. The lead apron helps but it doesn't completely protect you so it's not worth the risk when there's a little life in there.

Wow, I didn't know you can't get dental x-rays when you're pregnant.. Don't they put that big lead apron thing on you to protect you from the radiation?

Don't be embarrassed, mine only vaguely remembers me at each visit every 6 months- remember they see tons of patients every day. If they do ask, just end it with a "It didn't work out that time" or something like that. Or heck, dental hygienists are some of the chattiest people I know, it's not a bad place to get some sympathy since TTC for a long time really sucks!

i bet they won't even remember! i skipped a tiny filling for the same reason, i just didn't give them a reason & said i'd call to schedule it but never did. plus oral health is supposed to be closely linked to healthy pregnancies, so i'm sure they'd be very pleased that you are taking good care of those chompers=D

I totally did that at the dentist in the TWW, went in 6 months later, still not pg, and not in TwW and had X-rays... They didn't say anything, I doubt they remembered!

Don't feel weird - you were just being safe!

So I have a dentist appointment today and last time I was there (6 months ago) I was in my 3rd TWW so I asked if I could skip the X-rays. They obliged and kept saying "Congratulations" which was really not necessary since I said I didn't know if I was actually pregnant yet. Well here I am 6 months later and definitely not 6 months pregnant (not pregnant at all - yet)! I'm kind of embarrassed that I might have made a big deal about it last time and I'm really hoping no one mentions it... hopefully they know better! And I am going to get the X-rays this time :)!
