So normal to feel guilty; but you already paid for this trip, you are ON the trip so try to be present for you & DH, otherwise it's not fair to you guys either that you're constantly just feeling guilty! Baby has NO idea and will have NO memory of this (and honestly, 2yo won't remember either). Go do what you need to do!

We left our older at 5 months old and went overnight to a bachelorette party. I wrote like 3 pages of notes for my parents ha! He didn’t sleep through yet either but they were so pleased to be able to gift us the night away and they honestly loved it even with the night wakes and feedings. Whoever you left your kid with can handle it for a few days (they get to go back to their regular life after you get home and have all the sleep again!) and they will enjoy their time with your babes so much. It’s great for you and also great for the kids and family members to have that bonding time together. Try and focus on that and enjoy your time!

@pachamama: I keep saying it’s just 4 days. So far toddler is asleep and baby is right behind him but so anxious how it will go.

I'm sorry 😩. Going away is bittersweet for me bc I also agonize about baby sleep and it takes away from my enjoyment. What helps is I just accept what I'm feeling- "I feel a little anxious and guilty, but its normal, so it is what it is" That's really helped. No use in pretending you don't feel bad! And the babes will be just fine, a few days is nothing!

Hi all, I don’t know what I am looking for but DH and I are away for 4days. Our 2 yo and 3 month old are at home with family. I’m pumping and dumping but feel guilty leaving the 3 month old. We traveled when our 2 year old was three months too and it was fine but I feel so guilty. She has breastmilk and we also supplement. Apparently she’s eating at her own pace. It’s the first day being away from them. Our two year old is doing fine and so is the baby but I’m so anxious about how the night will go as she does not sleep through the night.

DH and I needed this time as it’s been a lot (not dreadful) but a lot of adjusting with two babies etc.

Feel guilty leaving our three month old since I know our two year old has been away from us and does well.
