@Corduroy: That's a great start! My LO's first day of daycare was 8 hours and he hardly ate anything. It takes a little bit of time to adjust. But like pp said, this is their job, they do this all the time and should hopefully be able to work it out.

They said she did great. She took a short nap in the swing and she drank about an ounce from the bottle. Almost sounds too good to be true. Ha - I'm such a skeptic. I'm optimistic about tomorrow. I feel better about sending a day's worth of breast milk.

It was so nice to see LO's expression when she recognized me. Too cute! I get why people look forward to seeing their LOs so much at the end of the day.

Don't feel guilty!! Yes you will miss him tomorrow, but enjoy the time to yourself right now. (You rarely get to have that). As far as the daycare, you would be surprised how well they can get the kids to sleep w/o assistance and to eat from bottles. They care for the kids every day, all day and they know tricks that work (even if they didn't work for me).

@highwire: I always tell R good job when I see she pooped there. I love having to just deal with them on the weekends.

The people at daycare are better at keeping LO on a schedule than I ever was. She eats, sleeps, and poops great there every day :)

One thing I keep in perspective is that it is their job. They chose the field and we need them in the field (there is absolutely nothing wrong with the child development field except that they don't get paid enough).

It is their job to get your baby to sleep and eat and work through those things on their watch. Don't feel guilty about having them do their job. And if she is a real bother get them a gift card as a tip.

@Corduroy: This was me 4 weeks ago. I told them that she was going to their devil child. R will only fall asleep in our arms and wakes up when we put her down for naps. I took her for 4 hours the week before she started and she wouldn't eat the bottle. She had been crying off and on for almost an hour when I got there. They were about to call me cause nothing would calm her down. But she was just hungry.

They will work with her on sleeping. If she sleeps with a swaddle at home, bring that in. It has helped R nap at day care. They actually out her in the swaddle a lot to drink her bottle too.

The weekend before she started, we did a bottle bottle camp. The hours that she would be at DC, she got a bottle. She fought us some but she eventually got it.

She will probably do better then you think. Once they get R to sleep she will nap in the crib at DC but won't do it for us at home.

Don't worry! They'll figure your LO out and make it work!

Talk to @Smurfette - her LO would only nap in her arms too, but their daycare is getting her to nap in the crib!

I have no advice about the bottles though.

I'm feeling guilty. Not for leaving LO but for all of her habits. Today LO is at daycare for two hours working up to full time on Friday before I got back to work on Monday.

The woman asked me if she naps in her crib or in the swing and I told her that she naps in my arms --- but that's only on her best days. It's usually in the ergo while continuously bouncing on a ball. Constant bouncing the whole nap.

Then they asked her feeding schedule. Uh - I don't know. She's hasn't taken a bottle since week 5 (she's 4 months). The director knew that but the lady in the infant room gave me this look. At least I know I tried everything I could on that one. Hundreds of dollars on bottles, long days away from LO, 100oz of breastmilk. Good luck with that!

I know I'll miss LO like crazy tomorrow but I'm really enjoying 2 hours to myself today.
