You are in survival mode right now, nothing you do is wrong. DD and DS watched a lot of TV and just hung out during my first trimester. That's just the way it had to be. I'm now 17 weeks 4 days, and the exhaustion is starting to go away and the MS is gone (phew!), so I'm feeling more like myself. I started to feel better around `14 or 15 weeks for MS and only recently started to feel less exhausted.

If you are out grab some and let them go to town. Chick-fil-a has been giving away sticker books and she loves them.

@Bao: I'm right there with you. I struggled the past 24 hours to do it all by myself and felt so bad when I couldn't... Not to mention I had zero patience for the whining.

@T.H.O.U.: I really wish that worked on DD... All she does is try to eat them. LOL

Sorry your MS is in full force!

I totally agree that learning independent play is an awesome skill for A! I encourage my LO to go off and play on his own and that usually just results in him bringing me a toy from the other room or grabbing my hand and leading me to his playroom.

Don't feel bad at all...being crazy energetic and constantly on-the-go =/= the best parenting.

hahaha I remember totally just lying on the floor of the nursery. Once I fell asleep and woke up with a start when my kid hit me in the head with a toy. It happens, give yourself a break. You'll be feeling better soon. Try just taking like 10-15 minutes to focus on playing with your child, then zonk :)

@Bao: I'm sorry you're feeling guilty but from all your posts I can tell you are a great mom! You are pregnant...you are not ignoring your daughter to play video games...give yourself a pass. I don't have any practical advice, but keep in mind the importance of independent play...I think there was a blog post or a thread about the importance of helping kids develop "executive function" and a big part of that is playing independently rather than relying on others to play/entertain.

I did a lot of lying around/napping while DD played too. It was rough!! Once my crazy fatigue went away I scheduled some play dates, took her to the market, park, out for walks..
Make sure to nap when she naps. Housework can wait!

I feel so bad for A. I have zero energy and my MS is in full force, so all I want to do is lay around. So all A has been doing is playing alone while I watch or watching Baby Einsteins, all.day.long. I feel like such a bad mom. I'm supposed to be taking it easy so I'm already limited to activities but feel like such a bum that I can't even take her for a walk due to lack of energy.

How did you manage taking care of a baby while feeling crappy during pregnancy? I don't imagine this will be over by next week so I need some advice!
