@catlady: with my first I didn't have depression or anxiety while pregnant. I did have PPD/PPA which I was treated for. With my second I felt off from the beginning, dwelling on how my morning sickness was ruining my summer with my son and finding the downside to everything. By 16 weeks I knew I was depressed and sought medical attention. I was told that if you have a history of depression or PPD/PPA it's much more likely for it to occur during pregnancy. I'm glad I sought treatment because my PPD/PPA has been 100x worse with this baby. Having a team in place has been life saving.

Definitely had periods of sadness or moodiness during pregnancy, and I wasn't even dealing with a history of loss. Hormones have a life of their own. Sending you some joy & sunshine!

@MrsSCB: Yes, it's the "off" feeling that's getting to me. You are right, I will bring it up next time.

@GreenThumb: I'm sorry you're going through this too. Maybe it's the long journeys that are getting to us. I too have a hard time accepting that I am pregnant (or rather, that my baby is actually alive and growing in there). Hope we both start to feel more confident in our pregnancies soon.

@marley: I was also thinking it might just be extra hormones. I wonder if it's the same for me, except instead of crying, I am just internalizing the negative. Hope you feel better soon too.

I also feel a little "off." Not full-blown depression or anxiety, but I can start crying with very little trigger. I blame everything on hormones. Big hugs.

I'm really sorry you are going through a rough time first of all. But, I have to say I'm sort of relieved that I'm not the only one who has felt a little off during pregnancy. I'm finally pregnant after 2 years of trying and 4 other unsuccessful IVF transfers, so even at 12 weeks, I'm a) having a hard time accepting that I am actually pregnant in the first place, and b) totally anxious about the health and status of the baby. I want to get excited and connect with the pregnancy, but I feel like I am just holding my breath for something to happen. I agree that it might be good to talk to your OB - I definitely am going to when I have my check up next week. HUGS!

On the one hand, I will say that yes, pregnancy has affected my mood and attitude more than I realized it would. But on the other, I'm a big proponent that if something feels "off," especially related to mental health and negative thoughts, please talk to someone about it. Whether it's "normal" or not, if it's affecting your daily life, there is help. I agree with bringing it up to your OB. I hope things start looking up soon.

@regberadaisy: Thanks, I was looking into that last night. I might ask my OB next time.

@ocean81: You might be right although it kills me that you were the one to suggest it. :( I will definitely rejoin as a resource to those experiencing loss at some point though. Everyone here was so helpful to me and I like to give back. to you too.

No advice really just  Do you think it would be helpful to hide some of the loss boards for awhile? I can't imagine reading about other people's losses is good for anxiety, especially with your history. While your support is so much appreciated, maybe if you just focus on yourself and your healthy growing bean for awhile the dark cloud could be lifted? I hope every day gets easier for you!

@catlady: I recently learned that pregnancy depression is a real thing. Not just postpartum depression. If you have a history I would probably bring it up to your OB? Hope the fog lifts soon.

Has anyone gone through feeling sad or just especially moody during pregnancy? I'm just curious if this is normal or not. Any tips for getting through it?

I'm almost 15 weeks now and after months of anxiety (mostly due to my history of loss), I thought I'd finally feel better by this point. But I seem to have a little cloud over me. I've been super moody, easy to upset, and just generally not so happy with life. Which stinks because I have a wonderful husband, an amazing 2 year old, a healthy pregnancy so far, it's summer, I love my job, and I could go on and on.

I just keep dwelling on the negative (either in my own life or in current events, which has been too easy lately) and can't seem to snap out of it.

I've dealt with major depression in the past and this is not it, so I'm not worried for myself or anything. Just hoping this goes away soon. I really enjoyed my pregnancy with LO so this is new to me.
