I am glad you don't think I'm crazy. Unfortunately, the cameras at school aren't pointed at my office. They spent money at the subway and Marshall's, but it is in downtown Brooklyn, and I am unsure how helpful people will be about it. I would like to file a police report, but the precinct is in a bad part of town, and I don't feel like walking there pregnant. There are only about 100 of us and we all have key cards so it feels safe. I guess employees were being nice and holding the door for others. In the five minutes I was gone, someone came into my office, stole my wallet from my purse, and then went on a shopping spree with my credit cards. I, of course, stopped all of my cards, got a new ID, etc. but I just feel violated. Someone must have been watching me. I really hope it wasn't one of my students (I am a prof in higher ed). The guards are looking through security footage but not sure if they will be able to make any conclusions...Anyway, maybe it is because I am pregnant, but I am feeling shaken up by the whole thing. My office is in a pretty remote part of the school, and I don't exactly feel safe there right now. Silly, I know. Anyone experience something similar? </p>
