Your tips definitely helped all! I had a muffin pretty close to bed time last night and slept the WHOLE night, it was glorious!!!! I had some crackers as soon as I got up this morning (I was feeling a bit yucky but not as bad as yesterday) and I'm feeling much better today. Mr Mouse is looking for some crystallized ginger for me and I'm going to have a bath to help cool off. I know I'll need a nap later today, but I feel 30x better than yesterday! Thank you all so much for your tips, I'm a much happier momma now!

Rough definitely is an accurate description! Hang in there, I wouldn't say it gets better in my experience, but it definitely keeps changing.

Remember, this is a marathon that is training you for birth and for raising the little one. And yes, it is totally worth it!

On rough days, I would take extra care of myself- go take naps when you can and snack often as the others recommended.

Mr Mouse made dinner tonight while I had a nap. I felt better as the afternoon progressed. I'll be sure to keep some crackers by the bed tonight along with my water, and I think I'll have a snack right before bed too. I'm hoping I get a better night's sleep tonight and tomorrow isn't quite so bad. I'll also try to pickup some ginger tomorrow :)

Thank you everyone for the advice and well wishes! Much appreciated!!

@mrs_mouse: The first trimester is SO hard. I remember feeling like I had the worst hangover of my life every single day for weeks. I so wanted to enjoy my pregnancy, but instead I found myself counting down days until the end of the 1st trimester. The one good thing is that if you're having all of these symptoms, then you're probably having a healthy pregnancy so far! Get some rest, take care of yourself, and let Mr. Mouse take care of you for a while :-)

My advice is rest as much as you can. I find that the more stressed/tired I am, the worse my pregnancy symptoms. Also, I keep a plate of crackers and glass of water on my bedside table so I can nibble if I wake in the night (which is almost every night) and first thing when I wake up. MS tends to be better when I do this. Lastly, lemon tea with some powdered ginger tossed in (or nibbling on dried ginger) is an absolute life-saver for me when dealing with nausea. It takes it right away. I'm 11 weeks and counting down to the end of the first tri--- hoping so much that it will get better soon.

@chrispygal: thank you so much!! Ugh getting teary eyed now! Lol!! I had NO idea it was going to be this hard. I knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park, but I really underestimated just how different I would feel. It's so hard to explain to DH how I can feel exhausted but awake, sick but fine, cry but I'm happy. It's like a little physiological bootcamp going on inside my body and no one knows how to deal with it! Lol!!! You're right, I need to cut myself some slack and let my body get used to the 'new normal' and just deal with it the best I can. Definitely looking forward to a nap this afternoon!!

Oh, I sympathize my dear. :( The good news is that the naseau is a great sign that all is developing normally. The bad news is that it sucks. Nap, rest, eat whatever sounds good to you and just baby yourself. Pregnancy is HARD. I had no idea how hard it would be. Cut yourself a lot of slack.

@Mrs. Tricycle: normally I'm a great sleeper, but you're right, my mind is just "on" now. When DH gets up for work, no matter how tired I am I'm somehow awake and up for the day. Thankfully I work from home and can take an afternoon nap when I need to ;)
TMI alert- I also got up 3 or 4 times last night to go to the bathroom, but I had a lot of BMs, not just pee. So weird!!

Thanks Mamamoose! I've been nibbling on some crackers this morning but soup sounds great. We have a lot of family stuff today and tomorrow, I'm not sure how I'll make it through if I feel like this, or how I'll make it through without giving it away! Every time I don't feel well my sister always asks if I'm pregnant, lol!

My only advice is that it gets better. Nobody warned me that I'd have the worst time sleeping during the first week or two of knowing I was pregnant - just couldn't turn my mind off. It was miserable for a while, but then I just got more used to the idea, and any sleep, regardless of annoying blankets, was fantastic. Hang in there!

Bleh I'm sorry!! Try to rest and get something in your tummy if you can (chicken noodle soup was usually easiest for me). Better days will definitely come but it can certainly be rough for a while!

Oh my. I feel awful this morning. My body I think is so overwhelmed. I'm exhausted but I can't sleep very well. I'm feeling nauseous (I'm 5 weeks) but I'm not sure if it's morning sickness or the lack of a solid night's sleep. I'm hot but when I take off the light blanket I'm using I'm cold. I feel like I can't win today. We haven't told anyone about the pregnancy yet, so I can't call my mom or sister for advice or comfort. Pity party for one this morning!

Any tips or sympathizers?
