@highwire: I did give my perinatal dept a call and they recommended I come in for a quick check up. As soon as they started listening, she kicked the doppler! I guess we've got a little drama queen brewing. :)

@MaisyMay: Glad you felt a few small ones. They will definitely pick up in frequency every week as the baby gets bigger. How has the rest of the day gone for you? Any more movement?

I think I felt a few small movements so I cancelled the phone appointment, but I did put in a request for a call from my perinatal department who normally handles my pregnancy care. The phone appt was with a doc who doesn't normally handle high risk pregnancy.

@MaisyMay: I've had a few days throughout my pregnancy where I haven't felt movement. I think the babies just get turned around in there and we can't feel it. Usually chugging some cold water or juice and laying down and really poking at the belly will get a response.

Yeah for where you are at I wouldn't be concerned. Baby still has a lot of room to move around so she's probably just shifted to a position where you can't feel the movement as much. Even now at 28+3 I sometimes don't feel the baby all day while I'm at work and I'll start to get worried but then around 8 o'clock at night there's always a dance party in my belly.

Thanks all. I called my husband and he said that I didn't mention any movement to him yesterday. I did lay down for about 40 minutes and still didn't feel anything, so I gave the advice nurse a call. She didn't seem especially concerned, saying that no movement for 24 hours is normal if you are before 24 weeks. But she did schedule a phone consult with a doc for me, and they'll give me a call in a few hours.
If the doctor feels that it is warranted, I'll try to get an appointment for tomorrow morning. Of course, if she moves around at some point, I'll cancel all of that.

Now I'm off to do as you all have suggested: lots of water, warm and cool drinks, eat something, move around for a bit and get some rest.

i'm 26w4d's and i just started feeling the baby consistently and i have an anterior placenta. before a week ago, i'd feel the baby every couple days. now i feel the baby pretty much every day but some days its barely anything and some days its alot. sometimes i'll put my hand on my belly and i feel movement even tho i don't feel it internally (cause of the placenta i think) so maybe you could also do that to see if u feel movement. my dr did tell me with an anterior placenta the movement won't be consistent until 28-29 weeks ish. but i'd call your dr if u are still concerned!

there were days where i felt nervous because i didn't feel them - had 2, so i should feel them more, right? lol. i think it just depends on the day, but if you feel concerned, maybe call your doctor?

I would also eat/drink something and lie down. I always feel the baby when I do that. Both of my babies have also been more active at night than the day.

Baby in womb is super active, but I think the longest he's gone without moving.. (aside from when I'm sleeping) is 4 hours?
He moves a lot more than my dd did.

@highwire: I'm at home, just been puttering around today, so I'll lay down for a bit.
@Mrs.B: I'm going to lay down for a bit and call Hubs to see if he remembers me mentioning LO moving much yesterday. If after 20-30 mins, I'll give the advice line a call.

My sister's doc told her to have a hot drink, then a cold drink, and the shock in temperature usually makes them move.... I agree with @highwire, I usually always feel it when I'm laid down and quiet.

Have you had much water today? Sometimes if you are low on water intake the movements can decrease as well, I noticed.

@MaisyMay: Call your OB and she will be able to give you some good advice on what to do.

I have been sick and I am on meds for strep throat and sinus infection. I wasn't feeling LO move at all on Sunday. I called and was sent to L&D as soon as they got me hooked up LO decided to give them a show kicking and squirming all over the place. I felt silly but I'm glad I called my OB because if something had been wrong they would have been able to catch it quick.

Is there somewhere you can lay down? I almost always feel baby the best when I am horizontal. See if you can feel anything by doing that.

Lay down on your side for a little bit. Usually if you're moving around the baby will get rocked to sleep, so getting some rest yourself might help.

How long have you gone without feeling any baby movements?

I'm 23w3d and have an anterior placenta so I didn't feel movements until around 21 weeks. I normally feel a fair amount of flutters and a few kicks, but I'm realizing that I haven't felt anything today and don't remember feeling much yesterday. I've had juice and sugar this morning.

I'm starting to get a little concerned.
