I would call for peace of mind. That said, I started my period 6 weeks postpartum and have had it regularly since :(

Definitely call. And don't forget to eat more. I found when I felt weak, I needed to take it easy and up my calorie consumption. Chasing/feeding/managing a new baby, plus a toddler requires a LOT of calories.

I would absolutely call. Hopefully you'll feel better soon and your hormones will level out, but it's worth making sure you don't have an iron deficiency or any retained placenta (I had the second and felt terrible until it was removed).

I feel like I remember hitting a low about 6 weeks PP. It was like the lack of sleep and trauma of birth just all came together at that point and beat me down. I also overdid it a few times and noticed the blood flow was worse after it had gotten so much better.

I would still call and get a check to just rule out anything, but hopefully it's just the bottoming out of your recovery process and you'll start to feel better soon. And take it easy if you can - not easy with a `19 month old though!

I have two questions. I'm 7 weeks PP and also have a 19 month old.

1) I keep feeling weak easily. Much more so than I remember with my first. I'm not sure if I just keep over doing it (taking on yard projects, long walks, cleaning the house), if it's the heat, or jus trying to keep up with a toddler, or something else. But if I've had a busy day, I am weak and exhausted at the end. Not sleep deprivation exhausted, but muscle soreness exhausted. I'm wondering if I should go see a doctor about it. I mentioned it to my midwife and she didn't seem concerned. But she tends to brush off my concerns.

2. I've had some spotting today. My lochia stopped three or four weeks ago. It's bright red. I took the kids to the park, which is about a one mile walk, so I don't know if I just overdid it? Should I call?

I'm sick of feeling like I can't do anything.
