@KrzyRiver: Don't forget to send off for your $10 Ovidrel rebate. Every little bit helps! :) https://fertilitylifelines.com/?q=save-fertility-treatments/savings-self-pay-patients#tabs-2

Ok, thank you. I honestly wasn't sure what Ovidrel did. It was back in November that we sat down and discussed this. And I pushed it out of my mind for a long time since I was so distressed over my miscarriage.

I do plan to discuss all this with my doctor if I don't get pregnant this cycle. But after everything we've been through, I wanted to get a few answers now so that I can feel a little more relaxed going into this. Lol.

Thank you!

The drug will work without Ovidrel, but like others have said it's only to insure perfect timing. With PCOS (I have PCOS) there is always a chance that an immature egg can release before its time, with your monitoring and the Ovidrel it will help the most mature egg ovulate and improve ovulation.

I'm not sure if Ovidrel itself boosts ovulation, I think it just helps to time it better - you usually ovulate 39 hours after injection.

Yes, they're monitoring me. I go in on the 18th for my day 12 ultrasound. And I plan to ask my doctor more about the drugs if this round is unsuccessful. I just figured I'd ask on here because I haven't actually seen her since my miscarriage in November.

She told me I could start trying after two periods, but because I had two 100 day cycles after my miscarriage, this is the first cycle that I can try again. So I haven't had much communication with her lately other than her writing my Provera prescriptions.

Ovidrel is just to time ovulation. Femara should boost ovulation on its own. But if do whatever you docs have prescribed. Are they monitoring you?

Does anyone know if there is any point to taking Femara without Ovidrel?

In spite of my PCOS, I was having regular cycles up until my miscarriage last November... but I haven't ovulated since then. I'm not sure if it's because of stress or the fact that I work midnights now.... probably both. But my specialist prescribed me Femara and Ovidrel.

My insurance doesn't cover the Ovidrel, but I went ahead and purchased it anyway, hoping at the very least that one round might trick my body into regulating itself again. But if my screwy sleep schedule still keeps me from ovulating, do I have to buy the Ovidrel every month? Or can the Femara be effective on it's own?

I just don't have the money to spend *every* month. Anyone know?
