I think many people feel that way. This is be ause they think a black child for example, adopted by White parents would attract questions. I imagine most people would assume the baby had a different father. There are many reasons someone might seek out sperm from another race, not that someone needs to justify it, but there are medical reasons. For example: I'm a CF carrier, Caucasians are significantly more likely to be carriers than other races, so choosing Asian sperm would give me the lowest chance of the donor also being a carrier. I would say avoiding a lethal condition is a totally reasonable reason to want to pick a sample that wasn't of my own race. From what I gather the only reason to oppose something like this is to assume the parent(s) would not teach the child about part of their culture. From what I gather here and have seen in real life that is simply not the case.
