Obviously it's super early but today we are pregnant! Thanks for your cheers and well wishes :-))))

Everything @bluestriped bee said. My RE said success rates are so much better with FET, it's becoming the standard. I was never told cell loss rate either, but I'm sure they wouldn't transfer a non-viable embryo. I transferred the only embryo I had, which is now my 5.5 mo DD! She's super healthy, crazy alert/engaged and just downright knows what she wants. I joke that all the weak parts were eliminated in the freeze, and we were left with super baby (which probably is not far from the truth).

My advice is to not dwell on what's done. It's a waste of energy, and it won't change the outcome. Easier said than done, I know!

I was never given any loss percentage when I did my FET. Did they say this was a normal rate? I also agree that from a biological standpoint that it could be fine. My protocol was a FET only and not any fresh transfers. I've heard from my RE that new research shows FETs might be better because embryos are stronger having been through a freeze and a thaw. Meaning only the strong survive. My FET was a success and I have my 2 month twins now. Fingers crossed for you! :goodluck:

But yeah, I would call them back and ask them if 30% is a normal percentage or if they saw more loss than usual.
ETA: also, my RE said skipping the fresh cycle and going for a FET allows your body to get back to normal after all that stimulation. It makes sense to me. Definitely have to be more patient waiting for the FET.

I have no idea the effects of cell loss on IVF success, but from a purely biological standpoint it seems harmless. The same genetic info is in each cell, so in theory it can just divide more and easily replace those cells.

Mine never shared a lot of info, but I don't seem to have much luck with freeze all embryos! They do say there are is a certain cut off for what is considered a suitable thaw, so if you were below that, I'm sure they would have told you.

Good luck this TWW! xx

I went through 3 FETs and was never told a cell loss percentage. I didn't know that was a thing! FX it doesn't mean anything and your embryo is snuggling in right now.

Hi::
We just transfered our one and only frozen embie. It was of good quality (4AB), survived the thaw but according to our embryologist lost 30% of its cells during the thawing process.

I can't help but think that this is very bad news. I was too overwhelmed and nervous at the time of transfer to ask any questions.

Any of you have experience with this??? Is all hope lost? Or is it fairly common?

Does your clinic inform you or do they just tell you it survived/ didn't survive?

It's going to be a looooong wait. Please send me some hope and positiv stories!
