@Zbug: mine was my second too, and I had a subchorionic hemmorage along with the slow heartbeat at 6 weeks. It was agony waiting for weeks and weeks to see whether it was going to be a keeper, so I have a great deal of empathy for your situation.

Thanks, ladies.
I know I just need to wait and see. It's just hard when you hear one place say it's likely normal and other that there's a big chance of miscarriage. So much for the second pregnancy going by more quickly.

@Zbug: Mine was 90 at 6 weeks, which they said was slow and gave me 50:50 odds. Everything I read said that miscarriage would happen within a week of a slow heartbeat. It wound up being a successful pregnancy and she is now 5 weeks old.

At 6 and 2 my baby had a heartbeat of 92. At 6 weeks, a heartbeat of between 90-100 gives you a 50% chance of miscarriage. My baby is now 32 weeks and 3 days and is doing well. I got lucky. 90 is slightly worse than 92, so your risk may even be higher.

I had a ultrasound at 6w4d. The heart beat was 120, my doc said it was a little slow but that the heart had probably only been beating for a couple days so she wasn't concerned. I'm 13 weeks now and everything is going well so far.

I had an US today at 6 weeks exactly. The RE said to either not expect a heartbeat this soon or that the heartbeat would be slow at 90-100.

@Zbug: many people don't see a heartbeat at all before measuring 6wk, so 90 sounds totally reasonable! I went back and looked at my notes. I had an ultrasound when I thought I was 6w5d (7.5wk by LMP, but I knew that was wrong), but measured 6w1d and it was 114. It's soooo hard not to worry, but 90 at 5w6d is so different that 90 at 6w-something

With my first pregnancy I had an US at 6 weeks exactly and the heart rate was 98. I went for a follow up the following week and it was up to 130! You're right in that it could go either way, but it's also possible your dates are off. Do you know your exact O date? If you're only 5 weeks 6 days then the heart probably just started beating. I will keep my fingers crossed for the best outcome for you!

At 5w4d, we didn't see any heartbeat at all. At 6w5d, we saw an average heartbeat of 125. As another reference, my best friend had an ultrasound at 6w3d, measured 5w0d and saw no heartbeat. They went back at 8w4d and baby is measuring 8w0d with a heartbeat in the high 150s.

I'm no expert at all, but could the ultrasound just caught the heartbeat really early?

(Update to earlier post)
The nurse finally called and said while things look okay for now, they are a little concerned about the heart rate being low at 90. According to lmp I'm 6w5d, I'm pretty sure I'm 6w1d, and I measured at 5w6d at this morning's ultrasound. From what I've read, 90 bpm at 6 weeks can either be considered normal or be an indication that miscarriage is likely (thanks, google). I'm having a followup u/s next week.

If you had an early ultrasound, what was the heart rate at 6 weeks?
