Poor baby girl - it was a sad experience for sure! We have our 4 months coming up soon, but my LO did really well with the 2 month vaccines. We gave her the tylenol in the office before her shots and I kept up with regular doses. She never spiked a fever. We were lucky!

@yellowbird: thank goodness that is over and done with. Hope you get some rest today. For us the 2 mos vaxes were so much worse than 4 mos, so hopefully you'll be okay at 4 mos.

LO slept from 8:45 til 5:15, but I kept getting up to feel her forehead and check her breathing so I'm still exhausted! Her fever hit around 100 again, but now it's back down to 99.4 so I think she's getting over it.

Thanks for the help! Definitely not looking forward to doing this again :(

Ugh, vaccinations are the worst - I mean they're awesome because of the protection they provide, but they're just so rough on our LOs bodies!

After the 2 month injections, which LO got at 6 weeks, she ran a temp of 100.7. We gave her Tylenol and it came right down - other than sleeping loads, she was fine.

Now with the 4 month injections that she just had a couple of weeks ago, she spiked a temp of 103.3 quite suddenly and projectile vomited twice. It took a couple of attempts to get Tylenol in her because she kept vomiting it up, but we eventually got there and her temp went down to 100.1 That was scary and I think I was up every hour during the night to make sure she wasn't burning up again.

Hopefully your LO is feeling better. I think I read somewhere that the fever usually strikes within the first 12 hrs and after its initial peak, it starts going down and doesn't usually rise again.

I hope your LO is having a good night and feels good as new in the morning!

Aw poor baby! We would just check periodically throughout the night and give tylenol as needed.

My guy also got a really high fever. My pedi said not to give any tylenol until he hit 101. Then I gave it for 24hrs like plantains.

Yes! LO screamed louder than I've ever heard and had lots and lots if tears afterward. It was traumatizing! Thanks for the link. Ill keep feeling her forehead and check at diaper changes.

I totally posted about this because the same thing happened to us. Here's the link.

http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/fever-after-vaccinations

I never woke her up to take her temperature unless she felt like she was burning up. I did take it at every diaper change at night (when the fever seemed to be worse) and a couple of times during the day. She never got above 100.4 and it was definitely gone after 48 hours. I gave her Tylenol periodically when it'd get above 100 just to make her more comfortable (even though there seems to be conflicting information on whether to do this).

I also felt really bad for her because she was kind of fussy but mostly just slept when she felt bad after the shots. It's awful because I had already felt horrible when she was screaming while getting them.

My LO had her two month shots today, and around 6:45 I noticed she was fussy, I checked her temp and it was 10o. I gave her a dose of Tylenol and around an hour later her temp was 99.4 both taken rectally. She's sleeping now and sometimes she STTN do I need to wake her up periodically to check her temp??

Poor baby:(
