Since this is the first time you've noticed this reaction and it's not an established pattern I would probably take him to the ped to make sure none of those bites are from a tick.

My little guy gets this too, usually after several bug bites. I called our pediatrician and was told it isnt unusual and kids normally outgrow it. We were also given the green light to give him benadryl when it happens.

D woke up this morning and felt hot when I gave him a hug, so I checked his temp and it was 101.4! No other symptoms that I can tell. He's been a little fussy the past few days (actually, Tuesday evening was nearly record-breaking), but otherwise he's seemed fine. I'm just finally feeling like I'm getting over a pretty terrible week-long cold (sinus congestion and cough, no fever), and he might be a little bit stuffy, but nothing that would make me think he's sick. Last night I noticed 3 big bug bites on his leg. So when he registered this fever this morning, I checked him pretty well for any other bites or tick marks and didn't find anything. No rash. Just this fever and like I said maybe a little stuffiness. Is it possible this is how he reacts to bug bites?
