The antibiotic is treating the bacterial ear infection, but wouldnt do anything to help with a virus, so I would think that it's entirely possible to have a fever while on antibiotic if he got a virus. Bummer though! I hate the back to back illnesses!

My LO has been on a round of amoxicillin for about a week for an ear infection. He had a fever over 103 last week and was utterly miserable and in pain, so I tried not to worry about just giving him an antibiotic. It is his first ear infection and he was just so sick. Looking back, I think he had it for a while due to different little hints. Anyway, he has been on the antibiotic for 1 week and now yesterday started getting a cold again and today woke up super stuffy and has a fever of 101.1. Should I be concerned that he has a fever even while he has been on antibiotics? (Add to that mommy guilt because on Thursday morning I missed one dose through getting ready for work and getting him ready to go to his grandma's.)
