@runsyellowlites: No, just ingesting. When mamas have oversupply I always suggest eating a peppermint altoid a few times per day. It's the easiest way to help reduce in small doses.

@junebugmama: Whoa. That's awesome to know! Can it reduce supply from topical use too?..

@citymouse: @runsyellowlites: They say not to ingest it while nursing, because peppermint (as well as lavender, parsley, etc) actually aid in supply reduction. Can be great for people with an oversupply

@runsyellowlites: makes sense. I can only think of tea or maybe some kind of dessert that you would be ingesting peppermint!

@citymouse: My MW said it was safe to use topically & for aromatherapy while pregnant & nursing... I think most essential oils aren't recommended for ingesting regardless but I haven't looked into it too much (weird me out thinking about eating/drinking it. lol)

@runsyellowlites: is peppermint oil only not recommended to *ingest* while nursing? Can you still safely use it topically?

@luckypenny: YW! I use it for headaches now too! It's really soothing & I was surprised how well it worked for even an almost migraine tension headache!

@luckypenny: Oh boo! Peppermint oil is good for bring down fever & is safe in pregnancy.

http://www.doterra-aromatics.com/products/singles/peppermint.html

After finding out that Tylenol is a class C pregnancy drug I didn't want to take it so I started looking into other options. We use lavender oil for P too (it's better for kids since it's not as potent).

What would your fever have to be to make you worried. I had a 100 degree fever tonight. I took a three hour nap and generally feel like crap. Not sure what to do :(
