@Boogs: I did! I had one they described as the size of a pencil eraser. I didnt know I had it so no real symptoms (although my periods seem better now?) but I did have it removed before trying to get pregnant at the advice of my RE. The procedure was no big deal and I got pregnant the second month trying afterwards!

I had one really big one - baseball sized - when i was in my mid 20's. I started to have some problems, bleeding between periods and having to pee all the time since it was pushing on my bladder, but I didn't know it was there. The ob discovered it at my annual exam, he thought I might be pregnant since my uterus felt so big. I had a myomectomy which is pretty major surgery to remove it. Since then a new fibroid has appeared but it hasn't been an issue as it is much smaller and hasn't grown much. It didn't interfere at all with my pregnancy. I did have to have a c-section because of the myomectomy.

@Boogs: the bleeding went away entirely. I've had them since, but none that caused problems. (Though I did have an ovarian cyst that ruptured and landed me in the hospital, but I think that was unrelated.) I wouldn't have known about the subsequent fibroids if I hadn't been getting scans for infertility/pregnancy.

I had one that I didn't realize I had until I got pregnant. It was kind of annoying maybe around 17/18 weeks. It was HORRIBLE and super painful one night around 28 weeks. They can "degenerate" which is what I think happened to me. Luckily it was just the one night and was fine after that. My friend had 3 and she didn't have any problems- other than looking super pregnant early because of where they were.

@rattles: After you removed it the crazy bleeding got better? Did you have problems with them continuing to return?

I've had several. Usually, they're not a problem. I had one throughout my last pregnancy. Pre-kids though, I had one that caused a lot of bleeding and pain. Basically, it felt like I was on my period for 6 weeks straight. I had outpatient surgery under general anesthesia to remove it.

Anyone have any experience with them? Did you have one or multiple? Did they give you any pain/problems? Did you do anything about them or did you leave them be?
