Ugh, it sounds like it's kind of all over the place and we are going to just have to figure it out. Thanks all for the advice!

Do what works for you! I think a lot of kids are ready at 12 months. We're at 14.5 months and some days are 1, some days are 2. Some kids will do 1 nap one day and then need 2 the next for a little while.

At 12 mos, LO was alternating between two different nap schedules, depending on the day. She always woke up around 6:30am and went to bed around 8pm. At home, she would get visibly tired around 10:30am, and we'd put her down for a nap that would last 2-3 hours, and that would be her only nap for the day. I have no idea how she lasted from 1-8 with no nap, but it worked for her. At daycare they would put her down at 10am and again around 2, and she'd sleep for about an hour each time.

At 16 mos, she's still doing this some days, but most days she's only on one nap now.

We're still on 2-3-4 at almost 14 months. It doesn't sound like your LO is getting enough overall sleep. I'd probably try one nap for a week or so to see how it goes.

At that age, LO was up around 6, took 1st nap at 9, 2nd nap at 2, and was in bed at 6:30/7.

DD is almost 15 mo and I think by 12 mo 2-3-4 doesn't really work anymore. When we're home on the weekends, she wakes up around 6:30, takes one hour nap between 10-11, takes another one hour nap 3-4, then is asleep by 8:30. This is her "normal" schedule (it's not what she's doing right now lol).

My DD is almost 14 months and takes one nap in the afternoon. She usually sleeps from about 1 - 3, and then sleeps 7/7:30 - 7 at night. For her, it's really more about the total hours of sleep. I hope you guys figure out what works for you soon!

My DD was on one nap at 12 months - that's when she started daycare and they had all the 1yo on one nap a day. She slept a little longer at night (7pm-730/800am) and napped from 12-2:30.

So I'm betting that most are going to say 12 months is early for one nap and it kind of is but my oldest switched to one nap by 14 months so your little guy might already be moving that direction. But first maybe you could try limiting the length of his second nap?

I just transitioned to a SAHM two weeks ago and LO and I are tying to find our groove especially with sleep. Part of the issue is that we went on vacation right after I quit and that obviously messed with things. The other issue is that he only napped maybe 20-30 minutes total at daycare, that meant he took a quick nap when DH brought him home and he generally went to bed about 7-7:30. Now that I'm home I'm trying to do a 2-3-4 schedule and it kind of works but the last couple days he has seemed ready to go to sleep at 7:30 but just lays in bed awake for like an hour. This has pushed him to sleep way later and leave no room for more than one nap. Is he just ready for a later bedtime or maybe needing to cut down to one nap? I'm feel like a new mom again trying to adjust to this "new" role
