Our duvet cover is DwellStudio brand, but I got it for a great deal on Zulily. It actually is on super sale on their website now -- wayyyyy cheaper than I paid: https://www.dwellstudio.com/Samara-Duvet-Cover-DWL6407-DWL6407.html

I found some really great 100% cotton duvets at TJMaxx in Edgewater---but it's hit or miss there, of course. I bought one for our bed and 2 for my in-laws house (they'd just moved and were looking). They were all nice brands. Mine was the Hotel brand, and theirs were maybe Calvin klein or something. Ours is kind of a blue/gray boho print, and theirs were both Ikat prints (one gray, one taupe). All three were very modern. Ours was a bit more $$--maybe $70? Theirs were only $40 each. Steeply discounted from the regular price...I think ours was $200 originally.

We got one from crate and barrel when we got married that I still love 7 years later. I really like some of their prints and it has held up well!

I went against the grain (white bedding looked terrible in my room and I couldn't ever keep the duvet from getting all wrinkled).

Pottery Barn has some great choices for 100% cotton duvets (I have the Rezza Pamplore and the Paloma paisly) and with the prints, it doesn't matter if the bedding gets a little rumpled.

@Mrs. Pen: I love that look. It would make me feel like I'm living in a hotel! But we have two cats and a toddler that all usually wind up in our bed on a regular basis. The cats are long-haired, and the grey tabby sheds quite a bit and usually sleeps on my feet. So I don't think a crisp white look is realistic from a maintenance perspective.

@ElbieKay: Macys has great ones. And I've had luck finding ones I liked from there for even cheaper on eBay.

Would you consider a classic white duvet and adding in bits of color through pillows and accent blankets?
That's kind of what I did with our bed! I love he look of a crisp, white bed. So I bought a plain white duvet cover from PB, and even a year later I still love it.
It would be so easy to add color with fun pillows if that's what you want too!
Here's my bed (we wanted a simple black/white color scheme):

Our bedroom needs a renovation. We need to paint and buy a king-sized bed frame. (The mattress is currently on the floor.) We are also open to replacing the nightstands. Pretty much the only items we're committed to/stuck with are the grey-brown Hemnes dresser from Ikea, our new king-sized mattress, and the yellowish bamboo floors.

We are thinking about getting mid-century modern-style walnut bed frame, but we are ok with keeping the mattress on the floor for awhile because our toddler loves it. We need to pick a duvet cover so that we can decide on a paint color. We want:

1. An interesting print with at least a splash of color
2. Minimum 200 thread count
3. 100% cotton

Does anyone have any suggestions?
