I also recommend babywearing! I only have one little, but during maternity leave I needed to take care of our pets and had a baby who always wanted to be held. Babywearing saved us.

Recruit help! A mama I sort of know dealt with a similar situation. Her friends would wear her baby when they took walks or went to the park with their own toddlers. The friends were happy to do it bc it was only an hour or so at a time, and it gave the mama a much needed break.

Have you tried ruling out dairy and soy? A lot of colic babies are actually MSPI. And if you don't babywear, that could be helpful.

The added benefit would be that you get a break, too!

@autumn865: Is there a way you can hire a part time babysitter that isn't family? Someone that could come a few hours. twice a week or something, so that you can take LO #1 to a class or to the park, or just out for a treat?

I have a two month old baby and a 2.5 year old toddler. To be honest it's been a pretty rough transition being a SAHM with two. My baby is high needs/colic so a majority of my day is spent trying to calm her/ hold her/ get her to sleep. I feel extremely guilty that my toddler gets very little positive one on one time with me :( we go out for special "mommy days" when I can get family to watch the baby. But what do other parents do to make time for their older child with a high needs baby?
