The last time I saw my primary care doctor, it took 14 weeks to get in (8 weeks to the first appointment time, but she was off that day, then 6 weeks to the time I actually saw her.) I called to set up an appointment, mostly for referrals for GBS and RH testing... "Does tomorrow at 1 work for you?" Uh.... Sure? I'm only 4 1/2 weeks pregnant, and you're actually willing to see me? Who are you and what happened to my (rather crappy) doctor?

Dr passed on pap because I just had one done in Nov with my old obgyn (diff loc)... He wanted to take a vaginal culture but I asked for it to be further along in the pregnancy...

Next appt is in four weeks for checkup/round 1 genetic testing!

(due to my long cycles bb measured 6 wks, 1day w edd of nov 19!

My first appointment was 7w5d. They did an internal ultrasound and were able to see the little bean in there. There's not much to see at that point but it makes your heart swell to a thousand times it's size when you see it for the first time, no matter how big it is. :)

I had my u/s first and then a week later I had my appt with the Dr. Actually it turned out to be the NP, she went over our med history, peed in a cup, did a pelvic exam, pap and had blood drawn.

I peed in a cup, and then I was weighed, had my BP taken, and the doctor did a transvaginal u/s. The nurse then took about a million vials of blood from me for genetic testing. My doctor asked me a few questions, and that was it! Pretty quick. No pap as I'd had one about 6 months ago. Good luck! :)

My first OB visit was at 8 weeks. I did blood + urine tests with my GP when the pregnancy was confirmed. I had an ultrasound with the OB. I didn't have a pap smear as I was not due for 18 months.

I went in at 6+weeks because I had a lot of bleeding. I sat and chatted with my OB and had an u/s. I was SO relieved when I saw my LO's heartbeat!
If I hadn't had bleeding, I would have seen my OB closer to 10 weeks.

Our office wouldn't see us until 8 weeks. They did some blood and urine work, took our medical histories, went over the dos and don'ts and gave us a whole lot of information about the clinic and hospital policies and procedures.

They also gave us an ultrasound, but only because we had a prior miscarriage and they "wanted to properly date the pregnancy"...or at least that's what the OB RN wrote down on my chart, even though my M/C was 3 months prior and I'd had consistent periods since, so dating really wasn't an issue. She told us she wanted us to have reassurance that everything was okay, but needed a medical reason for the books. Otherwise, we wouldn't have gotten one until our 12 week N/T scan.

I had a follow-up appointment at 10 weeks, where we met with the midwife, heard the heartbeat, and I got a pap smear (it had been more than a year since my last).

Wow your first OB appointment is a lot earlier than mine! My OB office wont even see you until your 8-10 weeks and at that point in time it's just with the NP. The following appointment would be with the midwife or OB.

For me I did not have my first appointment until I was 15 weeks (actually 16 because my due date was later moved) and at that time it was still only with the NP. Even though we knew I was further along they still did the appointment as if it was my 8-10 week one...family history, went over what you should/shouldn't eat and sent me for labs. They also sent me for a dating u/s at 16 weeks which turned out to reveal I was 17 weeks and moved up my due date. I had my next appointment with the OB at 18 weeks and standard u/s at 20 weeks (my husband wanted to know the sex of the baby which we actually found out from the first u/s which was a good thing because DS was not having it on the second u/s).

I had my NP meeting today at 5 weeks. We did a pap, pelvic exam and blood and urine tests. She also took our medical history and went over all the do's and don'ts and all that good stuff. At 8 weeks I'll have my first U/S and meet with my OB. I don't know how I'm going to be patient for the next 3 weeks!!!

I had an appointment at 4 weeks and then my first U/S three weeks later. It just depends on your doctor's office if you'll have one or not. At my doctor's office, you have to schedule an appointment for an U/S w/ a tech and it's done in a whole other area. For my first pregnancy, it was a smaller office w/ just one doc and I got an U/S at my first appointment.

I went at 9 weeks for my frist appointment with my actual OB, at 6 weeks I had a meeting with a nurse to go over medicial history and take a pregnancy test to confirm for them. At my 9 week they did a pelvic exam and then I did have an U/S which is not common, she just wanted to make sure I wasn't further along then first assumed. Normally my practive only does a 20 week U/S.

My first office visit was at 6 weeks with a nurse. She took our medical history and answered any basic questions we had and gave us a ton of information about the hospital, help phone lines, dies, exercise, etc.

My next visit was at 8 weeks with the OB where she did a semi-exam and u/s. I had a pelvic and pap just a couple months before, so they didn't require I have another one unless I wanted it. The u/s was awesome because we got to see the heart beating. It looked like a bean on the screen, but my OB was able to get and print a great shot that really looks like a tiny baby all curled up.

It depends on your office. I got a dating u/s at my first appointment with OB. But no pap because I just had one that year.
I know my friend's office they did not do a u/s at her first appt.

My first office visit was with a NP and we talked about visit frequencies, hospitals they delivered at, dos and don'ts and basically any questions I had. If I remember correctly that same day was the dating u/s. Then my next visit a month later was with a OB.

I had my first OB appointment around 6 weeks. They didn’t do a pap or pelvic exam because I had just had my annual well-woman exam the month before. They did an ultrasound which showed the little yolk sac, and they saw a heartbeat (couldn’t hear it yet). The OB also gave me some pamphlets on what to expect, and on “good fish to eat / fish to stay away from” and guidelines for how much fish to eat. We talked about prenatals and the option to add DHA supplements if I wanted (but she said if you eat fish on a regular basis, probably not too necessary to take an additional supplement).

My first OB appointment was at 6 weeks, they took urine, blood, blood pressure. I had a pap and pelvic exam. And then my OB just spoke to me about things to avoid and what to expect. I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks 4 days, that was at the hospital where the OB referred me. They have better equipment at the hospital so they do the earlier ultrasounds there.

When I was 6 weeks pregnant, I had my first appointment with my OB. I did a pap and she asked some questions (when was my last period, etc.) and then said, "Before I officially take you on as an obstetrics patient, you need to get your first ultrasound done to make sure there is a growing baby in there." So sad! So, at 7w5d, I had my first ultrasound (LO looked like a tiny bean!) done. Then the week after that, I went back to the OB and that's when the journey really began.

So excited for you!
