@ChiCalGoBee: anecdotally, I think mine have tended to be higher if I've had them tested later in the day. I'm not sure if it's beyond the normal fluctuations or not, but was shocked when I got a higher number a week I was expecting a low one...and the only difference was going in the afternoon vs. the morning.

@MaryM: Thanks for sharing! So interesting! My friend, a pharmacist, mentioned that apparently your progesterone levels can change throughout the day? I had no idea.

My second beta was 483, so a 97% doubling. Still waiting to hear from the doctor for next steps, but hoping it's okay.

@ChiCalGoBee: This shows the protocol I'm following https://www.naprotechnology.com/progesterone.htm

The middle line is "normal." That's 20 around 4 weeks. But they'll still suggest supplementing just in case it falls instead of rises like it should (mine dropped from 40 something at O+7 to 24 by 10 weeks). They retest every two weeks to adjust the protocol if needed.

I've been below "normal" since week 8, but have been on shots. I'm hugging the "low" line, but the baby's still moving around and hopefully will stay that way!

@LindsayInNY: Great site! I'll enter my info in, and add the next one tomorrow hopefully.
@hilsy85: Thank you so much!!
@tequiero21: Good to know I seem to be in range. Thanks!
@SweetiePie: Thanks so much for that info. A lot of what I'm seeing online is in the IVF community and I didn't realize there was a difference. My doc read the labs and sent them on so I'd think if he was concerned he'd have called.
@MaryM: Well I'm way below 40....but I guess Monday when we talk about the second beta I'll make sure to ask about the level. Hope your current pregnancy is going well-I am so excited for you.
@snarkybiochemist: Thanks for weighing in. I'm so happy for you that your daughter is here and healthy! Fingers crossed I get a good doubling tomorrow. :goodluck:

My 13dpo beta was 57 and my 15dpo beta was 129. Doubling (really a 60% increase) in 48 hrs is important. I was on progesterone suppositories but they always wanted my number above 15. I'm now snuggling my baby girl.

My doctors are EXTREMELY cautious with progesterone, so I understand this is more extreme than most will do... but

At four weeks pregnant, my doctor supplements anything below 40.

200 mg oral per day if it's between 20 and 40. They prescribe twice weekly shots if it's lower than 20.

(or, in my case, because of recurrent loss she went ahead and put me on 100ml shots twice a week to play it safe.)

Since you’re mostly concerned about progesterone I’ll just comment on that. 18 is definitely ok. They look for above 10, i believe, in a natural Pregnacy. In IVF i believe they look to be over 20 but that’s with supplements (they make EVERYONE take them since the stakes are higher).

Numbers really do vary w different people, different pregnancies. That said, with my first pregnancy, twins, I had 301 at equivalent to 15dpo or so...

There is really a huge range for individual numbers, it's the doubling time that's important. That sounds like a number right in the right range tho! Fingers crossed everything goes up appropriately:)

@ChiCalGoBee: I used http://www.betabase.info/ to track mine both times. For DD1, at 14 DP-IUI, it was 124. For this last pregnancy/loss, at 14DPO, it was 240. I remember that being higher than one of my friends and she's having a successful pregnancy. I think my progesterone was like 21 or something? 18 is a good number. It's suppose to be over 10 or 15 or something (I can't remember exactly LOL).

Hi all, I wondered if anyone could weigh in on my first round of blood work? I had a miscarriage at the end of September and am very fortunate to have gotten pregnant on my first ovulatory cycle since. My first beta was a 245 (roughly 14 DPO, Cycle Day 27) and my progesterone level was 18. I know for the beta they're looking for doubling in 48 hours (I'll get it drawn tomorrow), but hope anyone in the know could weigh in on these numbers. I'm obviously very nervous having just had a loss, and this is my first round of beta draws, so I'm a little in the dark. Please feel free to share your numbers if you remember them! I'm especially wondering about the progesterone. Fingers crossed this one sticks. :goodluck:
