If you're not a godparent, I feel like a nice Nativity is going to be too much. </p> <p>@LulaBee: I'm going to be inviting people to a communion/party next year, and as a prospective hostess, I say no gift is fine. If you show up and get a good photo of you and my child (that you send to me! :wink: ), then telling him that you're so happy he wanted you there would make you a fabulous guest in my book. If you really want to, a card would be a nice touch. I think there is some expectation for godparents to bring a (small, religious) gift. Etsy has some nice carved wooden boxes but I'm kind of at a loss. Ideally it would be something the little guy could play with and use rather than something like a picture frame or decor type item.
