Just an update on me - I spotted (very light, no tampon or anything necessary) for 8 days starting CD 22 and then my full normal period started. I asked my step father (he's an OBGYN) and he said that is perfectly normal and to just wait it out.

My period just ended after 4 heavier days and today which has been light (thats a normal period for me). We'll see if it goes away tomorrow like it should. Fingers crossed.

One day three of my girlfriend and I sat around sharing our off birth control stories. Skin changes, mood swings, strange periods. BUT! Your body figures it out and things will get regulated. My cycles were definitely off for a month or two.

My doctor said to wait a few months before TTC--let your cycles get regulated so you don't get frustrated with the process. Others say just go for it!

I'm going off birth control when I finish this pack (week and half of active pills left). I've been on it consistently, without any breaks, for almost 12 years. Definitely nervous about what will happen afterwards!

@Mrs D: if you're TTC even though you've had your 'period', might want to stock up on some tests. I got pregnant after my first cycle TTC and since it was so irregular and off I didn't know I was pregnant at the beginning because my dates were so off. GL! :)

I came off my BCP on 10/26 my period started 10/28 and lasted 4 days (all normal) I would have started a new pack on 11/2. Hubs a moment of "Oh Sh*t! i'm not ready for this" and I took 2 pills on 10/3 thinking i would start that pack after all. Next day Hubs says "1'm sorry I am ready" (back off the pill) then I got a heavier, longer period on 11/7 for 4-5 days. I've been charting and I'm pretty sure that i'm ovulating now.

@Mrs D: Yeah, it's super annoying, because basically it's almost like having a 2 week period on the annoyance scale. Mine really started getting better last month, then this month, BFP :)

I had super annoying heavy spotting for the first several months after going of BCP. It would start maybe 5 days before my period would actually start. It was almost all brownish, and very annoying. So, it could just be that. Probably it's just your body figuring out what it is supposed to be doing now. Mine did get a lot better after a couple of months, especially after I started taking a b complex in the second half of my cycle (not sure if it was the b complex or just my body regulating).

Well, I was on a low-hormone pill, so I didn't experience what you're going through, but I think it might be pretty common to experience some bleeding mid-cycle when you're first off your BC, because you're body is used to one thing and now you've changed things up on it, so it's just trying to figure things out.

Hopefully someone else has had a similar experience and can give you more advice. I think you probably will just have to wait it out and hopefully your next cycle will be more normal!

So...I removed my last ring on October 15, was expecting my Period Oct 19, actually got it more like the 24th - not too concerning. However, it was a relatively light cycle - again I didnt think much of it as it was my first without putting another ring back in midway through.

So my Period ended Oct 29, again this is pretty normal.

Then Nov 13th I started randomly spotting. Mostly brownish but some red. Very light (i.e. never needed to use a tampon). Well now it is still going on and I am getting annoyed.

Anyone have any thoughts on what the heck is going on with my body?

(TMI - I was travelling a lot the last few weeks, DH and I only got to BD on Nov 11 - so I am highly doubting any chance of being PG)
