@mediagirl: She's 7 months old now. I really think he's going to like it. I think there's a lot more men out there that would like to stay home with their kids than you'd think! Lots of women have commented the same thing to me.

@yoursilverlining: Yay! That's so exciting! That gives me hope for when mine starts daycare. The one we've chosen sounds really amazing and great, but still . . . It makes it easier for me knowing she's at home with her daddy now.

It makes me feel really accomplished to be a part of a team and feel like I'm really contributing, at work and to the income.

I'm glad you had a good day too!

It was my first day back too!

I got a HUGEEEEEEEE project right off the bat; and it felt good to get back into everything. We had LO go to daycare last thurs and fri for 3-hours each day, and both days she was *so, so happy* to be there; which helped the transition to full time care. The second day, when we dropped her off, as soon as she heard the other babies she grinned and started kicking her legs and flapping her arms.

Today my husband dropped her off in the a.m., and a few times during the day I missed her like crazy...but I kept reminding myself how much fun she was having at daycare.

When I picked her up after work, she was fast asleep in one of the caregiver's arms. When I said her name, she opened her eyes, saw me and grinned. Made me SO HAPPY. :D

It was a good day!

@JennyD: being busy is so important! How old is your lo? And how lucky you are that your husband can stay home. I think my husband would love to be a sah/wah dad.

@mediagirl: Eeek! I was (secretly) worried all weekend about it. But I'm nice and busy at work so that kept me happily distracted. Good luck on your return, and let us know how it goes!

So today was my first day back at work! And my husband's first day as a stay/work at home dad! Everything went pretty well. I only had to turn around once (I forgot my purse, how bizzare) and I made it into the office on time. There were some other people starting at work today too (we recently merged with another company and they moved into our office today). I don't think the baby napped especially well, but I'm sure things will improve. My husband put dinner in the oven and it was ready to eat when I got home.

So, all in all, pretty successful! Anyone else starting a new gig this week?
