Awww i know how you feel. My son started daycare when he was 2 years old and I was so scared that he thought I was abandoning him! I cried the first day I dropped him off at daycare. But most kids end up loving it. It's much harder on the parents than on the kids. I'm sure your LO will end up loving it!

@sandy: awh I totally understand. I spend 24-7 w/my LO - she's my constant sidekick, buddy, shadow, partner in crime for the past 18 months. It's sooo silly, I know, but the thought of leaving her, even if its only for 1.5 hrs, terrifies me. I dread the day she enters preschool. Momma's gonna have a much harder time letting go, for sure :P

Good luck! And enjoy your sbux break :)

@BabyBoecksMom: haha...only for 1.5 hours...I know I will relish the time away from her soon enough :). Just enough time to grab some Starbucks and get the grocery shopping done alone :)

@sandy: I misread, you are only going to be away for 1.5 hours? That's no time. Enjoy having some mommy time to yourself. Get a mani/pedi/etc. I'd die to have a 1.5 hour to myself without work or childcare. Live it up momma!!!

@sandy: :-( I know it's going to be hard, but it's only for 4.5 hours. I'm sure you know of lots of stuff you can do to keep you busy while she's out. Plus, just know that she'll be making lots of new friends and learning new things with those friends. Good luck!!

My LO is almost 22 months and today is her first day in a 2s program. It's a drop off program and it's only 1.5 hours...so not a big deal but she's been my sidekick for the past 22 months. My parents have watched her but she knows them so well...I'm worried she's going to think I've abandoned her with strangers.

Any tips? I know I'm being ridiculous. My husband says this is more for me than her...I need to learn to let her go a little :)
