We stopped using wipes at that time and just dabbed her with water and a cloth!
Also air out as much as possible!

@Mrs Green Grass: The diaper rash came back with a vengeance a couple days ago so I bought the purple Desitin- it's helped SO much. Thanks for the recommendation - it saved me a lot of agonizing over what to try!

Our first diaper rash for LO was at 14 mo so I understand your freak out! Our magic paste has been aquaphor. That and using only water for her wipes and as much diaper free time as possible! Baking soda sitz baths if it's a rash from diarrhea.

I'll just rely about treatment. For us, using Desitin ASAP was best. The purple for really tough diaper rash, blue for just minor irritation. I won't use anything else after experiencing a horrible rash. Also wipes stung my LO when he had diaper rash so I rinsed them off and just patted as well as possible. Then air dry, then cream.

My 7 mo old has her first diaper rash. We've been use Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm for preventative care on occasion. I used it today when I noticed a small splotchy area. It's gotten bigger so I am wondering a few things since I'm new to this problem-

What else do I do to help with healing?
How often do I apply ointment?
When do I try out a different one?
She's been fussier today - do rashes sometimes cause that?
I gave her a few bites of yogurt yesterday, could that cause it?
