Okay, I do have a question. LO just went to bed. We gave Motrin at 5, which lowered her fever completely. Should I wake her to administer more later? She'll likely wake (as she's not a great sleeper). I just worry about her temp spiking again. I didn't think to ask her doc.

I spoke too soon. Fever is back to 102.8, and we've given Motrin.

Talked to the doc and our friend (who is a peds ER nurse), and they both advised just taking it easy. LO seems happy, which is wonderful. We're happy to lay low, treat the fever, and let this run it's course.

Party is cancelled ... So, our bday plans are now to cuddle in bed, and lounge at home. Oh, and pray that I don't catch it. Every house needs at least one person to stay healthy!!! :)

@regberadaisy: Without. We wanted to see what the fever would do (because it's her immune response if she's sick). We do have Motrin just in case.

It's already down to 99.8. Will call the doctor in a bit. We go to a small practice, and she has a cell we can call on the weekend.

Teething fevers don't usually go above 100/101.
I would call the nurse line and try to let other parents know your LO has a fever?

Our LO has her first fever. Just checked, it's 101.9. She has all symptoms of teething (minor diaper rash, lots of drool, a little runny nose, and chewing on everything). Aside from that, she seems totally fine. Happy as can be. She's 12 months old, has 7 teeth, and has never had a fever with them before.

Her first birthday (and party) is tomorrow, and it's a Sunday, so I won't have a chance to talk to the doctor until Monday.

Wondering what I could look for that would indicate an infection of some kind (temp wise, or behavior). And, since we've never been through a fever before, I don't know if we should cancel the party now ... wait until the morning? I just don't know how fast a fever can change/go away, or if she's contagious. Yikes! Can you tell I'm a first time mom?!
