Weird, I've taken larger pouches and been given no trouble. I put them in a seapate ziplock and wS clear that I had them.

@caterw: Yeah they really are the perfect snack for on the plane. Cheese sticks are good too.

@PawPrints: That is RIDICULOUS, but good to know! DD likes pouches for snacks and I definitely planned on stocking up for her.

@pawprints

me too. Security line was forever long and the TSA did give me a hard time. They were factory sealed pouches. I had three. I was told I can either wait for the machine that tests these things (15-20 min) or I can throw it out. Unfortunately, I threw it out bc flight was leaving soon :sad:

Just FYI I have had TSA give me crap about 4-oz pouches. They ultimately let me through but said I was supposed to find 3-oz ones. They are much harder to find but they do exist; I found some at Target eventually.

I prefer to bring factory sealed items, they won't open it or test it, they'll hand scan it. I always bring a sealed bottle of water for my son, I haven't had an issue in 6 years.

Bringing baby food is fine. I just put everything in a lunch box and declare it at security. I brought homemade purees and pouches with no problem.

Yes to everything @mediagirl: said about food. We take pouches, applesauce, cereal, etc. Just be prepared to be pulled from security for a hand swab and the containers tested.

As for entertainment, find those puffy stickers and let your LO "decorate" the food tray or window (they come off easily).

There are exceptions for baby food. You can pretty much take anything you want on the plane and they will let you through security. They may stick a little stick into it to "test" it but otherwise, you'll be good. We took pouches and were fine. We still take them and she's 4.5. :silly:

We are flying for the first time with our one-year-old daughter next week.

1. Is it fine to bring food in ziplock bags in carry on baggage? She typically has baby cereal mixed with applesauce for breakfast, but I don't want to bring the full bag of cereal if I could just portion it out into ziplock bags...

2. I can't find any food pouches under 100 mL, but it sounds like they make an acception for baby food. Anyone have experience with this?

It's just a quick 2-day trip so we don't have any checked baggage.

Also, welcome to any suggestions for toys/activities for the plane :)
