Thanks ladies! I did wake up every 3 hours last night (my body must be conditioned!), but I definitely have enjoyed today! Sleeping in, leisurely breakfast, time to work on projects without little hands in mix - it's been really nice. We're picking him up in a few hours & I'm so glad we took the time apart. I bet next time will be easier :)

I've been away from LO overnight twice and he's only 5 months. The first time was for a bachelorette weekend and I made it one night but came home early. We were also away this past weekend for a wedding that we both were in and had to stay away for 2 days. I missed my baby like crazy but the break was kind of nice. It allowed us to take some time to concentrate on our marriage and not just baby. We always make sure to go on dates and have time to work on us so being away wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I'm going to a concert at the end of this month so lo will be with sil (lo will be 14 months) and I am so scared! I went to the movies with dh yesterday while my mum babysat and was missing lo so much and couldn't wait to have her back and that was 2.5 hours max! I'm going to be a big mess!

I'm sorry :(

I have yet to leave my LO overnight (she's 12 months) but I'm sure I'd have the same feelings that you have when/if I do. Hugs!

My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary & leave our son with a trusted friend overnight. It's my first time being away from him for so long (he's 13 months) and I'm not thrilled. It was fun for a few hours, but now I'm just kinda sad (maybe its this pumping break I'm forced to take).

I thought I'd love the return to being "kid free", but I don't really. I'm not even sure I'll enjoy getting a full night's sleep - I think I'll be jealous that someone else gets to cuddle him during his night wake ups (and there are, ahem, quite a few).

Did anyone else feel this way there first time away from their baby? Does it go away? Or am I just a weirdo?
